World map - Satellites
Matthias
Hi Simon,
did you have a look at PSTRotator?
This is an excellent program and supports many different rotators.
It is possible to interface with it various way.
Codrut (the author) is very supportive.
Kind regards
Matthias

Hi Frank,
I'll look at Hamlib's rotator support and the licencing. I don't want to write a full rotator program but Hamlib may make a basic program quite easy.
As for Geochron - I've been writing programs like this before they started with their computer-based solutions. It's only now that i have time for this program.

HI, very interesting and excellent "sat_idea" Simon, As a satellite user having also made for me a small soft unfortunately only numerical for my AZ/EL and EME/SUN pointing with kepler files in 2L format (sat graphically I was not able...), surely this future very good update of World Map, with satellites, will be interesting if you can also use some more rotors (for EL AZ)... or just delete all rotors now in WORLD MAP and use only HAMLIB for rotor management which implements almost all of them with one single configuration. With a single programming, you will be able to use all rotors with HAMLIB.... is just an idea, but without command to automate AZ/EL it would be without a leg...
Simon's World Map is "getting closer and closer" to Geochron.... ;-) ;-)

Hi,
I'm not writing a Rotator program; I only added the current rotator support for myself as I use the ERC interface with Yaesu rotators. At the request of a user, I added GS232A and GS232B support.
I may add the rotators supported by the Hamlib rotator library, but that's all. No plans to interface to other software.

Hi Simon,
understood. Your choice.
I only wanted to point out PSTRotator as an option to avoid having you to implement various drivers.
Kind regards
Matthias
