When you look at the "Connections" tab in the server manager, do you see phantom users? i.e. A user listed but on frequency of 0 MHz and using the server for days, hours, minutes, seconds? I found if I installed Simon's World Map, it would install the proper C++ Redistributables.
To clear a phantom user, you have to open the "Service" tab of the server manager, hit "Stop", and if it doesn't lock up, hit "Remove", then lastly "Install". When it locks up, you'll have to kill the manager via Taskmanager. Even then it may not go away. Sometimes an entire re-boot is necessary. Lately (last 6 months or so) I've had no issues with my 5 servers. Only one runs on W7, and it was a PIA to get the proper C++ Redistributable.
I found if I installed Simon's World Map on my W7 netbook for SDRC Server #3 and an SDRAnywhere server, it would install the proper C++ Redistributables.

I can pass comment on you going crazy.
What you were thinking about is what we used to call the MAGIC PACKET which raised a slumbering networked machine back to life.
I assume it exists still. Every time I come across a reference to Wake On LAN (WOL) I keep hearing George Harrison singing.

Actually,
I think there's a setting which will wake a sleeping computer when traffic on a port is detected. Or I may be going crazy 🙂 .

Okay, I got it sorted. Thanks for everyone's help. Looks like the server went into sleep mode because it was idle. When I disabled that, it started to work properly.

From what I can forensically find, it happens when a select user doesn't shut down the Icom rig when exiting. Even though the RCForb server app turns off the radio after 60 sec, I can see the exact time when the SDRC Server and RCForb server go offline.
None of the other SDRC Servers that also do double duty at RCForb servers running W10 do this. i.e. KA1GJU@PCARC or KA1GJU Super Station #2.
Maybe time to replace the aging W7 netbook?
Time to climb the 128' tower and swap out the 2M repeater antenna on the farm here while its above 10c and NO WIND...

It requires a special packet. Wake On Lan.

There is a setting in most computer BIOS settings that allow wake on lan.
