Remote settings on SDR Console
Mark
Hi Guys,
Don`t know if this has been brought up before but was wondering if there was any way to customize settings on a remote PC using SDR Console.
I find it frustrating every time I connect to server I need to adjust Antenna selection, Visual Gain, AGC on/off etc to my preference.
Apart from this small niggle I absolutely love Console..

If the server is running an old (very old) version of SDRC Server, then you will see what ever the last user had used. Some people really know how to hork up the settings such as massive attenuation, with massive RF Gain and visual gain, no AGC.
Simon spent some time on the server portion of SDRC two years back or so and that issue went away, the settings are now what you used on your last connection to that particular server.

So,
Are you connecting to the remote computer with something like VNC or Remote Desktop or are you using the SDR Server option?

OK,
The values are reset to a vaguely sensible default when you connect as some users were leaving crazy settings which caused subsequent users considerable grief.
I'll think about this, maybe make it an option.

Morning Simon,
Just a wee reminder of the issues, I use RSPdx mostly and sometimes use remotely, when connecting every time remotely
the AGC, Visual Gain and Antenna Selection setting needs adjusting from default every time, would be nice to have some option setting.
Apart from that little niggle love SDR Console and the remote function is probably best software out there at moment.

Something else that would be nice concerning the RSPdx and SDR Console,
though when it's run locally:
The HDR setting is very helpful when monitoring frequencies below 2MHz. This can be enabled in the Radio portion of the ribbon bqr after starting the RSPdx.
Once the radio is stopped in the ribbon bar, the HDR setting returns to "HDR disable". However, it stays at "HDR Disable" when the radio is started again with the same center frequency and sampling rate. Easy to forget to re-enable it, but now the RSPdx will not be running optimally.
Thanks for considering this.

Hi,
If you mook at this option and the Help you'll see that it's just the files used by SDR Console.
Which settings are you referring to?

Hi Simon,
Am I right in saying the remote settings can be customized in the new File Exchange function under Tools.
Love the latest update but still trying to get my head round this new function..

Hi Simon,
To explain bit further I enjoy listening via laptop in other rooms in the house via the shack computer.
I use mostly SDRPlay RSPdx and every time I connect it defaults to yellow star settings, the settings in question
of most importance are RF Gain default 20, AGC default on (I prefer off), Visual gain default 0db (-10db preferred) and Ant SMA A default, I use BNC C.
Hoping there is a workaround as its an annoyance every time I connect.

Yes, I agree. I'll have to find where this code is and only apply it for WAN connections, not LAN.
