My three wishes: 1. More floating panes 2. Saving Quick Access 3. Edit icons Quick Access

Kees van Engelen

Hi Simon e.a.

My three wishes would be:

1. More floating (parts) of panes. Like External radio. I liked the way it was in v2, with tabs and so.
2. The possibility of saving more items in the Quick Access Toolbar; I had it arranged so nice, but it wasn't saved :-(
3. The possibility of changing (editing) the icons in the Quick Access Toolbar; I liked the way you had it made in HRD.

Will my wishes come true, or is it (technically) impossible?
But, whatever the answer is, I still love SDRC.

Thanks for this great program.

  1. Floating panes - which, be specific?
  2. Again, be specific. Icon such as Favourites can't be saved.
  3. So you want to change icons in QAT only? Obviously could be done but not trivial, this is a different ribbon bar to the one used in HRD.

I'll try to be more specific :-)

1. The receive pane has many controls sometimes are too long (You have to scroll) when they are opened)

The best example is the external radio. VFO tuning would be nice as well.

2. Bandwidth would be nice. (Favourites that's a pity); I think for the keyboards, the same applies (cannot be saved?)

3. OK :-) It's more a wish when more items could be saved in the QAT,e.g. the green spots...

OK,

Thinking about this there's no real reason why the External Radio has to be in the receive pane.

If I may, I'd like to add another wish. I would appreciate the ability to have a customizable "Ribbon Bar" to enable me to choose the controls that are displayed without switching tabs. For example, maybe I want elements of the Home, View, and Receive tabs all accessible within this customizable tab. I understand there would be a limitation of how many can be displayed at one time, and that would be dependent on the monitor resolution. While I am aware of the "Quick Access Toolbar", I have never found much value to its use because it allows me to choose individual settings without the benefit of a drop-down menu of choices. Perhaps the ability to customize the Ribbon Bar is not technically feasible, but I don't recall having seen this request previously. Thanks.

Favourites can be floated to some extent by the use of the "Tree" view.

Right now I do not believe you can select a second VFO if your radio has one. I have a Kenwood TS-890 and cannot get to the "B" VFO from SDRC. Not a biggy but if your looking in this area...

Also,

On my 'to-do' list is fix my 70cms station, I've lost 30dB sensitivity so either the transverter is poorly or the masthead preamp is toast.

And sort out the summer Band II station.
