#Future ADALM Pluto iio initialization GPO0 as PTT #feature #ptt #future #adalmpluto

I read https://wiki.analog.com/university/tools/pluto/hacking/power_amp
It describes how to setup one of the four GPO-Pins to automaticly switch while e.g. transmitting (purpose: enable external PA). I can do RX/TX from Adalm SSH-command line but rx/tx switching of GPO0 is not handled while transmitting in SDR Console. I don't know how the Pluto is implemented in SDR Console, but may be it can be done easily while initialization. This line will setup GPO0 to switch to high on TX iio_attr -a -D ad9361-phy adi,gpo0-slave-tx-enable 1Here is also a list of additional driver options (for reference only): https://wiki.analog.com/resources/tools-software/linux-drivers/iio-transceiver/ad9361-customization

Hi,
I’m in the middle of some commercial work, but will look at this quickly today. I did have GPO support but removed it and am not sure why.

Scroll down to GPO Control.

Hi Simon,
Tnx for the fantastic software that you put at the disposal of the qo100 community. Will adapting SDR Console to send the PTT through the GPIO also work with the Pluto firmware from Analog Devices or only with F5EOE firmware? Best 73 de Rudy

Hi,
Could I ask what is the current situation regarding PTT for the Pluto? Is it implemented via the GPO pins in the latest version of SDRC and does it work with the stock AD fw (0.31 I believe is the latest)? I would like to use PTT with an SG-Lab Amp... Great s/w, thank you. Rob

Rob,
The standard firmware from AD does not work with GPO, so you must use a USB relay.

You can use the firmware from evariste It switches a relais on gpo pin just fine A usb relais only works if pluto is direct connected to your pc But not if you control your pluto via ethernet with a network dongle... The fw from evariste works fine for datv... And also in transparent mode in sdr console... In both cases the firmware switches a relais on gpo 0 Pluto switches tx on for a few seconds when booting If you use two gpo pin and use gpo1 as inhibit signal then tx relais does only pull in on tx but not while booting Use fw from evariste... And you do not need any usb relais.... Greetz sigi dg9bfc Am 06.01.2021 05:53 schrieb Simon Brown <simon@...>:

Check f5uii web site https://www.f5uii.net/en/actualites/dual-ptt-switching-board-for-adalm-pluto-sdr/ Installed on my Pluto, it works perfectly ! 73 - noel f6bgc

Guess who asked evariste for that fw add on... Guess who had the clever idea if using two gpo pins... Am 06.01.2021 23:35 schrieb Noel f6bgc <f6bgc74@...>:

Hi Sigi,
Thanks for your suggestion. I had wondered whether the fw was ok for not-datv use of Pluto? But it seems it is...? If I drag and drop the evariste fw, do I still have the same virtual disk interface available, so that I can drag and drop the AD fw again in the future? Hi Noel, Thank you for the link and confirmation that SDRC still works with Evariste's fw, I just wanted to be sure that if I put the alternate fw on, I could still use SDRC for narrowband (not ATV). I was looking at that board last night, so your information is very helpful. 73 Rob, M5RAO

Sorry for being a bit slow but reading the page at https://www.f5uii.net/en/actualites/dual-ptt-switching-board-for-adalm-pluto-sdr/ , to use the board, I first have to install fw 0.31 and then install the "pluto beta for the brave" fw, which is then referred to as PlutoDVB in the next line of instruction.
I'm sorry if this seems over-cautious questionning, I'm hoping to avoid accidental bricking :) 73 Rob, M5RAO

I guess first you need to be sure you know how to recover a "bricked" Pluto! The Forum does seem to be the place to go to see what problems (if any) others have had. 73 Alan G4ZFQ

I am using the Evariste fw to give me PTT via a relay board in the Pluto and it works fine with narrow band QO100.
