Frequency Database
John Barnett
I would like to ask if it would be possible to include a time start filter in the filter section, please.

Hi,
There are many Frequency Database options which could be added, it'll happen in 2023 if
I am reminded 🙂 .

Plays very nicely with SDR Console. See here for straightforward step by step guide to installation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vu5fAjdRHw Although this video is slanted towards SDR Uno, at 2 Mins 45 seconds, where he selects SDR Uno, just select SDR Console V3 instead. From then on the setup is the same. If you have not used virtual com ports on SDRC yet, then see here. Again, it's pretty straightforward: https://www.sdr-radio.com/cw-skimmer#VirtualSerialCable If you install CSVUB you will not be disappointed. Max |

I'll give CSVUB a try as I find the Frequency database in SDR-Console confusing.I'm sure the SDR stations database is good as far as it goes but CSVUB custom list database and so much more. Is so impressive I don't think you will be disappointed, and as far as all the databases go it pretty much is fully auto. One button press to auto-update all of the popular databases AOKI, EIBI et. etc. If you watch the video I linked you will see what I mean. Also it's dead easy to import Dan Ferguson's SWSkeds combined list too. Also on CSVUB, browse with the "live" filter enabled and it will only show you currently on air stations, auto following SDR Console frequency. Cannot recommend it highly enough as a companion to SDRC. It was a bit of a revelation to me anyway. For Dan's list (it's not essential but it's a superb and regularly updated list) join the SWSwkeds IO Group: https://groups.io/g/swskeds Good luck Max |

I watched the YouTube video"SDRuno basics, CSV user list browser" , and got all the way thru the set up of the CSVUB database program, until I got to the section of setting up the virtual serial ports. So something I should know, but where in SDRConsole do input the other end of the virtual comport pair?
tnx Paul w2eck |

Visit the sdr-radio.com website and follow the menus to the support information. All you need should be there. {^_^} On 20230131 14:00:06, w2eck wrote:

It would appear that you CSVUB freq data base working with SDR Console. I am having trouble getting them to connect. I am using com0com virtual serial port emulator. In com0com, I set up a pair "port pair" of 26-27 ( I have a Flex radio that has used up many of the lower numbers? In SDR Console -Tools-Options- Controllers- Port- Selection - i clicked the box for port 26. But then when I go to SDRConsole3-CSVUB settings -COM, and go to select Com 27 , the pair I made in com0com is not available. If I click com 26 it seems to be paired to com0com com14. See attached screen shot. I click apply settings and test the pair, and it fails. So am stumped, can you offer a few suggestions? 73 Paul |

Hello Paul
Sorry, for some reason I missed your earlier post couple days ago. It's sometimes hard to keep track. Also, unfortunately no idea what the nomenclature means in Com0Com as I don't use it. I can only say in VSP Manager which is the one I use, it clearly creates ports in pairs, which is what you says you've doe in COm0Com. If I had to guess I'd say that on the displayed drop down, it's not saying it's paired 26 with 14, I think it may be that Com26 is the 14th port generated by Com0Com? I've attached my VSP Manager generated ports in the same drop-down in CSVUB. It's not a dissimilar sort of idea by the look of it, that is, if I look in VSPManager, my Com Port 14 was the third port I generated in VSPMgr (no, well actually it's the 4th because I think first port generated is numbered Port 0). So I'm also attaching picture of my ports as generated by VSP Manager so that you can see what I mean. So in answer to your question, I'm really not sure why it's not working? I'd be inclined to go back, delete the port pair in Com0Com then recreate them. Did we have a conversation about ticking/not ticking "strict baud rate emulation" in Com0Com when you create the pair? Maybe that was with someone else, but I don't have it ticked on VSP Manager when I create the ports. I'm sure that whatever it is it will be a simple answer. Probably nothing to do with it, but maybe before you try anything else set 57,600 baud rate at both ends (SDRC and CSVUB). Mine are set to that and it seems to work fine. Hope you get it sorted. It's worth it in the end! 73 Max |

I think I will start over using VSP Manager and then if I am still deadlocked, we'd at least be on common ground. Tnx for the reply 73 Paul |

MaxNP Paul. Will check back in a while. I guess no need to remove the ports you've already set up in Com0Com though, especially the ones that are working? 73 Max |

com0com is very easy to setup and use except that it has one unfortunate default. Make sure the top checkbox selection for both ports is checked - "use Ports class." The default pair do not work in many programs and does not have those checked. {^_^} On 20230201 12:09:18, Max wrote:

Hopefully Paul will read this before starting again with VSP. Max |

I now have the CSVUB program up and running, and enjoying it very much. Your recommendation for using it, was spot on, it is definitely feature rich. I did install VSP Manager, and the comport pair i created with it got CSVUB working. 73 & tnx again for the help Paul |
