Audio feedback in headset

sm6fhz

Hi all.

I am using SDRC with my Hermes board and testing and learning the Tx-function.
My system is an DELL Precision 7520 i7 running Win10.
I am using a Plantronics Blackwire C320-M USB-headset at 48 kHz in Win10 audio setting.

It seems to work fine in Tx, but I get audio feedback from the mic into the headphones while in Rx with the SDRC. I.E. I hear my own voice and breath while in Rx.
Stopping SDRC the feedback stops as well.
I have looked at all settings in SDRC I could find (Monitoring off etc.), but can not find a way to get rid of this feedback.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction where to find the knob / button that stops this audio feedback when in Rx.
It is present if the Tx-panel is active or not.

Is it a Windows artifact? I have been looking in the "Sound settings" in W10 but could not find anything there that would stop it.
The "Mute mic" button on the Plantronics stops it, but I rather not manually press that button every time I go from Tx to Rx :-)

Any suggestions?

I enclose a screenshot of SDRC.

Sorry, I missed to scroll down below the Tx-spectrum in my screenshot to show that the Monitor is disabled.
At least none of the "Tx" or "Rx" buttons are lit up.
I have tried with all possible combinations of these buttons, but no joy.

Two additional screenshots as I could not fit all of the Tx-window into the height of my screen.
Now all should be visible.

And Sigi, no monitoring enabled in W10.

Turn down the mic gain - if that has no effect then it's something inside Windows.

Yes Simon, you are correct.
SDRC mic-gain had no effect.
There is a feature in W10 Audio settings called "Sidetone" (see attached picture). It was slightly above the lowest level and that was enough.
Maybe it was this on Sigi was driving at. It was placed in the "Headphone"  part not in the "Mic" part.
Now the monitor in SDRC works as expected.
Thanks for the advice.

BTW Simon.
Have got any snow the last days?
I saw on the news the Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow was affected and there was 10 cm of snow expected in the south western parts of the UK.
But, maybe Cornwall is south west of the south western parts of the UK ;-))) Sub-tropical climate there?
We have had freezing temperatures for more than a week now and snow on the ground.
Ice is starting to form on the local lakes. I am preparing to go skating !

Yes, almost sub-tropical. No snow, been 0C, will be 10C at night soon.

Am frozen.

I believe there are two paths that mic/line input can loop back to the output without going through applications. I suspect you have this right, though.
