State of OpenCL in SDR Console?

(I sort of suspect some of the limitations I am seeing are purely processor bound graphics threads. My machine is a monster. It is an old monster. The AMD might work quite well. But, I surely don't know. It's only a guess. Something with monster CPU throughput would clear much of it if this really is a CPU thread at 100% issue. I do make graphics more expensive as I do not run windows full screen most of the time.)

Hi,

I'm doing like 10 Mhz right now but in time I might go further if I get a higher end SDR.

I do some over GPU stuff. Using a AMD 5900x right now CPU wise.

How good is DFT/FFT processing of CUDA vs a AMD CPU now?

Thanks!

I run NUCs here to save power.

What bandwidth are you considering? What's your CPU?

Current test kits have improved FFT / DFT performance when running on the CPU (i.e. no video card).

Hello,

Curious what the state is of OpenCL in SDR Console and how well it might work on an AMD card now.

Normally, I buy Nvidia cards but the next generation RTX 4000 lovelace cards are very expensive. AMD may win out with a much better price to performance but of course they lack CUDA.

Curious if anybody here runs a AMD GPU with SDR-Console and how well it works.

I figure if i want proper support and runs well i might just have to bite the bullet and pay the extra for a Nvidia card :(

And yoz do not need to use a 4000 blabla bings and boings nvidia...
A 1000....2000 or 3000 something will do fine.. And are much cheaper
