A/B looping in ELAD's SW2 is as easy as it gets. From the bottom of the GUI
and while playing a file, at the start time click A, at the stop time click
B, click the green loop icon to start the loop. The only limitation is you
can't span wav files. SDR-Console can loop between wav files so if you were
to improve the interface please keep the ability to span as often you want
to loop a TOH that starts at the end of one file and continues at the
beginning of the next file.

Thank You,

Bill

I think there could be a better way of setting up a loop.

Now that I've discovered the Navigator screen I don't know if anything else
is needed. The SDR-C loop feature is a bit more complicated than ELAD's SW2
to set the start and end points but SDR-C wins hands down because it can
play 2 or more files and then loop to the beginning of the first file again.
VERY NICE and thank you again !!!

Maybe we need a loop option, if set to 10s then it loops for 10 s and there's a way of shifting the start of the loop buy a few seconds.

Hi Bill,

Yes, the RDS features in Console are excellent!

For looping an MS burst, try Rec/Playback > Navigator and follow your nose. I did put together a tutorial on looping a small segment of a recording - if I can find it I'll reply to this post with a link!

Short version, when playing back a recording, is there a way to set an A->B loop in SDR-Console?

Here's why. First, I want to send a huge thank you to Simon for adding the FM RDS log feature. I'm just back from a DXpedition where I used this feature combined with the rabbitears.info RDS autologger to capture FM Meteor Scatter during the Orionids meteor shower. Even though the autologger can only log a single frequency at a time it was very successful to identify times of activity. I had it running 24/7 and at convenient times I extracted the RDS database to Excel, did some basic sorting and could tell when to look in (and save) the recordings. The automated results can be seen here - https://rabbitears.info/tvdx/fm_one_tuner_map/79  For anyone who does FM DX this is mostly Meteor Scatter over 7 days. It's nothing short of incredible and the recordings are still to be reviewed.

Back home now comes the months of listening to the recordings and extracting the ID's. Fortunately SDR-Console and the autologger both work from a recording. What I'd like to do is identify a short burst and set an A->B loop (5 seconds as an example). That way from a 60 second recording a 5 second loop will step through 12 times faster and find many more ID's. If A->B doesn't exist I could re-write the 60 second IQ files as shorter copies of only the desired section.

Thanks,

Here's the tutorial.

Another way to select the start and stop times of the part of the recording you want to loop is to pause the recordin at the start and finish of the burst and "select current" to populate the times you want.
