Satellite Maps and Doppler Frequency Changes
Hello Simon,
I very much Like your Satellite portion of Console. I am just learning it now. Two questions: 1. Does the Doppler change in frequency show up on the frequency readout screen? Presently I do not see that happening. Maybe a setting I have missed. 2. A program called DX Atlas has a map variant in which a globe can be displayed in lieu of a flat map. Have you given any thought of having that capability available in the Satellite module? I just really like that view. The mouse rotates the globe to any position desired. |

Hello Simon,
Thank you for your reply. I apologize for the lousy screen capture. I forgot to use the camera button and then the satellite was gone. Also another window was over the lower right. So just a totally screwed up picture. When NOAA 18 was being tracked, I never saw the radio frequency change in the lower left. So where is the Doppler frequency displayed? I also had WXtoIMG running during the pass. Should I be recording the audio from the satellite using SDRC? If so, what settings should I use for recording? Can the SDRC recording be used with WXtoIMG for performing the image enhancements? I have looked for a tutorial on youtube and just haven't found the one that must be out there somewhere. Thanks, George |

There must be a table somewhere that has the frequency and perhaps ithas not been set yet. George I do not know but have you looked here? https://www.sdr-radio.com/satellites 73 Alan G4ZFQ |

George, The Doppler Frequency as such is not displayed. However the updating Doppler is displayed in the lower Status bar. You can observe Doppler of 361Hz in the attached graphic taken around TCA on this pass. This is the way Simon set it up many moons ago. 73 Colin VK5HI.

You must enable tracking (ribbon bar, top left). The actual Doppler offset in Hz may not be shown but something call Range rate will be.
