FM broadcast band recordings
Pekka Sorjonen
Hi all,
I love to use SDR Console with my FM-dxing and record also whole night and later in the morning check if anything interesting was going on. I have been using Playback Navigator to my recordings because my old i5 does not have enough power to handle large files with Analyzer. Playback Navigator in Waterfall/Bitmap mode works fine but I have been wondering what defines the time gap between two time marks. Sometimes it is only two minutes, sometimes six or twelve or even bigger. It has something to do with how large the recording is and what is the chosen intervall. Pekka |

Hi,
The gap is really just some algorithm I added so there's a reasonable gap between markers. I can take a look at making this gap smaller, i.e. more markers.

Hi Simon,
Thanks, of course the smaller the gap, the easier to spot any irregularities in the waterfall. Two minutes from marker to marker would be fine but totally up to you, if you have some time to ”spare”😊. SDR Console is in it´s own class!
Pekka
PS. My overnight recordings usually are from 8 to 10 hours. Very rarely I do longer on one session.

FWIW,
Today's beta has faster loading of the navigator waterfall and the increments should be better for you.

Nice work Simon. Tested with last night’s recording. Works perfectly. And a lot faster making the waterfall. Good thing the new ”Autoscroll” is on/off by user´s choice. I usually let the audio on while scrolling and if I then stop for a couple of seconds, it jumps back to real time line of waterfall, so I keep it off.
