Thinking about this, it must be related to ‘Exclusive mode’ access to the microphone, this reduces latency but bypasses a lot of the Windows audio mixing. I’ll make a kit where Exclusive mode is optional then invite you to the test team to have a play.

Unfortunately this is back to unresolved.
Switching to shared worked for a short period and then stopped working.
I'm going to look at the software loaded on the laptop (my old work system) and see if there are any programs that might be potentially trying to grab the microphone, and remove them.

I'm going to look at the software loaded on the laptop (my old work system) and see if there are any programs that might be potentially trying to grab the microphone, and remove them.

All USB makes me think there’s something on the laptop.
This really is odd – I use W10, W11 and W7 for testing, were there a serious issue then others would have reported it. What’s strange is that you say other software is OK with these USB microphones but not SDR Console.
I know you have a Yeti – what are the other USB microphones?

There shouldn’t be issues.
As far as I can see, the only thing we have in common with the problem is that the microphones use USB.

Sorry Simon for butting in as of course I don't have your understanding of the system, but Don, as well as selecting "Shared" in SDRC, did you go to the device properties in Windows Audio Devices and untick "Allow Application to take exclusive control" in the device properties (Recording devices tab)? Maybe Simon's setting overrides this setting in Windows, but I notice changing it in SDRC does not untick the box in Windows and I've seen this setting cause issues in other software that I've used.
Probably worth a try at least?

That’ll not be it. It’s as if there’s some extra processing taking place, I use the WASAPI drive (low latency), we’ve not had this issue elsewhere. It’s on the USB microphones, not the built-in soundcard. Although this could be a bug, Don’s findings and the fact that there are quite a few users of the transmit support with Plutos makes me suspect some extra software on Don’s PC.
Logitech is a good company, I would expect their products to just work OK.

Sorry Simon for butting in as of course I don't have your understanding of the system, but Don, as well as selecting "Shared" in SDRC, did you go to the device properties in Windows Audio Devices and untick "Allow Application to take exclusive control" in the device properties (Recording devices tab)? Maybe Simon's setting overrides this setting in Windows, but I notice changing it in SDRC does not untick the box in Windows and I've seen this setting cause issues in other software that I've used.
Probably worth a try at least?

That’ll not be it. It’s as if there’s some extra processing taking place, I use the WASAPI drive (low latency), we’ve not had this issue elsewhere

Let’s see if the Audio Capture is reporting errors – to do this run DebugView; https://www.sdr-radio.com/diagnostics#DebugView
There shouldn’t be issues.
As far as I can see, the only thing we have in common with the problem is that the microphones use USB.

Unfortunately this is back to unresolved.
Switching to shared worked for a short period and then stopped working.
I'm going to look at the software loaded on the laptop (my old work system) and see if there are any programs that might be potentially trying to grab the microphone, and remove them.

I’m 99.9% sure it’s a hardware / 3rd-party software issue, but I would love to have this laptop here just so I can see what’s happening.

Some good news.
I moved the Pluto and the Logitech USB Headset over to a newer laptop with Windows 10 and it has been working great since yesterday.
The new laptop is where the Pluto Plus needs to be anyway so I'm not worried about the old laptop and why it doesn't work. Maybe some day I will reload the OS but there is too many programs on there.
I believe there was another person that has the same issue with audio.
Hopefully this will work and I can get on to using it.
