SDR Console down conversion Option (external radio settings)
Attila Baloglu
Hello Group,
I'm using a Icom IC9700 with build in PTRX-9700 Panorama Adapter connected to SDRplay RSP2pro with SDR Console. The PTRX-9700 output on 2m / 70cm and the IC9700 receive Frequency are the same.. Everyone can track each other (using external radio in SDR Console) and that is perfect.. But, the PTRX-9700 output for 23cm is a down conversion (1240 - 1300MHz converted to 311 - 371MHz), therefore I can't use the up conversion Option from the external radio setting. The RSP2pro must have the Panorama Adapter IF output range 311 - 371MHz and the Icom IC9700 1240 - 1300 MHz of course. I need a down conversion Option for the external radio setting (929MHz in my case) or tracking each other isn't possible... Is there any other way to solve my problem? Many thanks in advance 73 Attila DC0ED |

Hmm.. In radio definitions the converter?!? That should do it On qo100 we have a display of 10 gig... But receiving is done on 740 megs Similar as your offset I do not use an icom but i guess the converter offset does what you need Dg9bfc sigi Am 30.12.2021 09:43 schrieb "Attila Baloglu via groups.io" <dc0ed@...>: Hello Group, |

Hi Sigi, In SDR Console it should look like this with tracking the IC9700 and the RSP2pro when I use the converter (929MHz difference) it will show |

Converter in radui definitions could be used. Set the needed offset for 23cm band. Start radio with that offset. On 2m and 70cm the offset is not used (ignored) while on 23cm it is used. Works similar ob qo100. When you start with offset... You still can receive on 740 megs. Sdr console tries to use offset.. But if that gives a negative result the offset is not used Try it... It should work. Dg9bfc sigi Am 30.12.2021 18:53 schrieb Simon Brown <simon@...>:

you mean setting the offset in the Icom IC9700? I will try it, maybe a workaround until it works in SDR Console.. I‘m a bit curious about the tracking with the offset in the TRX, but we will see… I keep you informed.. 73 Attila DC0ED Am 30.12.2021 um 19:30 schrieb Siegfried Jackstien <siegfried.jackstien@...>: |

No.. I mean when you start the sdr.. Start with converter offset. Not the icom... The sdr!! Dg9bfc sigi Am 30.12.2021 19:48 schrieb "Attila Baloglu via groups.io" <dc0ed@...>:

Ok you mean a converter definition in the SDR definition itself.. I will try it… As I‘m working with different identities in SDR Console this could be a perfect solution.. 73 Attila DC0ED Am 30.12.2021 um 20:56 schrieb Siegfried Jackstien <siegfried.jackstien@...>:

Dear Sigi, happy new year and thanks for the hint, it is working fine now… 73 Attila DC0ED Am 30.12.2021 um 21:19 schrieb Attila Baloglu via groups.io <dc0ed@...>:

when you tune to 2m or 70cm the converter is ignored (cause -929mhz would give a negative result) and when tuned to 23 cm the converter is used (and sdr is tuned to 3xx mhz) so you should not need to use two different settings ... all
should work well (after a bit of finetune) also to you a happy new year dg9bfc sigi Am 02.01.2022 um 16:14 schrieb Attila

I prefer to use different identities, gain and many other parameters are much more fitting the used band… All is working well now… thank you 73 Attila DC0ED Am 02.01.2022 um 17:10 schrieb Siegfried Jackstien <siegfried.jackstien@...>:
