Hello I am having trouble with setting up a server. I have done this many times before and never had this trouble. It works on LAN fine but not on WAN. I can hook up on WAN no problem to make a definition but connecting and using it does not work. Keep getting timeout errors. With a couple tries I can get it to show the RSP1A, but still get timeout errors, then it gives up. Using 3.1 on 3 different PCs Win 7 and Win10, same results. I am using a different router now, but port forwarding looks like its working fine. Thanks! use 32.209.103.168 port 50101 username Larry, password Larry.

I can't get past this screen... apparently one has to enter a port number BEFORE the user name and password. Won't let me enter 50101 or any number for that matter. Had to kill via Taskmanager. Another bug? 73 Kriss KA1GJU |

Thanks for all the help!!!! Ok, Kriss, I enabled the On Air, not sure what it does, I guess that puts it on the list of online servers. It is under the name WA1LGQ TEST SERVER. We shall see. It won't be there for long anyway....Larry

I am using SDR Console v3.1. I entered your address, name, password and port. I was able to receive WWV on 10 Mhz in Oxnard, California 93035 at 10:10 PST on 11/15/21. Bookmark the following site to monitor who, how long, what band and rough location via IP Geolocation: http://onairv3.sdrspace.com/onair-v3.xml Scroll down to your named server to see activity. Set limits on the guest account, OTW you will have SDR hogs on contest weekends (i.e. cheaters) that will use it 24/7 if the antenna is decent and QRM is minimal. Mine are set for 1 hr max and 10 min between connecting again, with the exception of those who have contacted me for their own private account with more relaxed settings. With private accounts set up, you'll know EXACTLY who is one it versus 'guest' appearing in the log. One more thing... the default setting is running the service in the background. So if the computer you are using gets donated to XYL, kids, etc... you will join the ranks of the numerous failed servers on the web page above with a yellow exclamation mark. This will also make you chase your tail when setting up the server on a different machine. The page above said I was running 3.02x, when I had loaded the latest and greatest version... turns out my Icom remote base laptop was once used as an SDR Server and was telling Simons server that I was listening on a port which wasn't true. Hence the yellow triangle with ! in it. Awesome server monitoring site Kriss!!!! That is really useful. Thanks for the tips, and yes I already thought of the hazards of leaving the server running on one of my many machines but the reminder is a good thing!! I have access to a quiet, higher elevation rural location 25 miles from home that I will likely set up servers at. I have a 6M Websdr there already for multiple users as well as a continuous FT8 monitor to the pskreporter.net site. Usually quiet except when the band is open or there is a contest. But actually there is FT8 activity almost all the time just as on most other bands.

The server doesn’t require a powerhouse computer, I use old W7 netbooks and recently, W10 laptops from Craigslist.
Just be mindful of QRM from Ethernet switches, routers, and Cat5/6 cables. All of which can be tamed with T240-30 toroid cores. Getting the antenna far, far away from the computer(s) and other QRM generating makes for a good set up. I use old 1/2” CATV hardline, which was removed when fiber was replacing it. One of my CATV coax runs is +300’, and hosts four SDR’s of three different mfgs for users to experiment with. (KA1GJU Super Station #2) The antenna is a 150’ EFW in an Inverted L, draped over tall trees lining the cow pasture. Feedline connects to a 9:1 unun, and has a ground system attached to the unun. The grounding of the unun dropped the noise floor on 160-80M by 1.5 S-units! Feel free to PM me any questions you have. 73 Kriss KA1GJU |

Not a bug. The port must be known before you can

Jdow, If I place the cursor in the port box and enter 50101 after the 0, it displays 050101 and yes it works… but it took numerous attempts of shutting down via Taskmanager and restarting SDRC. |
