Hi Simon
Assume as an IT man you are aware of the free SSL self-installs (or install on request) available from nearly all hosts (all?) these days without the expense of a paid-for SSL certificate? Providers will happily take your money for a paid SSL even though they all provide the facility for an equally effective free one. Not necessary these days with CPanel AutoSSL and LetsEncrypt. Just in case you were coaxed into paying! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let's_Encrypt I am sure you know this already, but just in case! Best Max |

😊
The site is now secure. I use duda.co which generates the SSL certificate when the site goes live, but it takes an hour or two.

Pity about my pet hate Simon.. grey writing on a white background. It doesn’t help people with poor eyesight. Fortunately a simple change perhaps? Apart from that.. keep up the good work Allan G3PIY From:

Yeah, a couple dB more contrast would be good. I'd go to a lighter gray background perhaps slightly dialing down the blue a touch at the risk of beige-fever. The text dark gray could be darkened a little. But, that depends on what level of control he has. Push comes to shove a slightly thicker font might help. (Maybe even as little as 10% thicker.) Unfortunately "pixels" get in the way of optimum.

73 Alan G4ZFQ =================================== For a web site which is intended to convey information rather than be pretty pictures, the user should determine the displayed text colour and size etc., and not the web site. The user knows their own eyesight capabilities, and devices like Kindles allow for this. Not to mention the wasted effort when creating the site. 73, David GM8ARV -- SatSignal Software - Quality software for you Web: http://www.satsignal.eu Email: david-taylor@... Twitter: @gm8arv |

I agree, it needs more contrast. Old eyes! 73, N0AN Hasan On Fri, Jan 10, 2020 at 3:37 AM David J Taylor via Groups.Io <david-taylor=blueyonder.co.uk@groups.io> wrote: I have to agree, and my eyesight is not too bad. |

Hi,
I agree with the grumbles. What’s very good with the duda.co website builder is I can change the text font / colour for all pages with just a few clicks.
I’ve increased the default text size from 15 to 18 and changed the colour from RGB (100, 100, 100) to RGB (50, 50, 50) – i.e. bigger and darker.
I’ll do this for https://www.sdr-radio.com/ after I get the next beta out.

Been reading about contrast online, have learnt a lot. Website update to use same colours as CNN and same text font size. Thanks for the complaints... Simon Brown, G4ELI https://www.sdr-radio.com -----Original Message-----
