ANAN Radios - Borked!

Simon Brown

Hi,

Now have my ANAN 10E connected, I can confirm that something, somewhere is nicely borked. After a minute or two it goes ’tits-up’. Working on it…

Good Luck Simon!!!

Simon Brown

Exactly.

It was a memory leak (resource leak). Now found, so at least that’s one nasty bug out of the way. Was probably biting me in other parts of the code.

Send out for a new programmer, this one’s past it now 😊 .

Know just how you feel, but you can't give up! The quality of your software (inspiration, function, interface and, apparently, the internals) is just outstanding. Together with your honesty, patience and good humour, this makes you a legend.
Sorry, don't mean to be an ass-licker.

😊

Anyway, that resource leak (GDI Objects in Task manager) is fixed. There was also a very slow, similar resource leak elsewhere. The ANAN 10E now runs for hours, I’ll check the TX later but the WX is just too good for sitting indoors.

Simon,

could you please tell which other ANAN models can be operated with SDR Console after you recent work and if operation will be possible in conjunction with both protocolls (old and new firmware versions)?

Hi,

New protocol only, all models except the 7000 (which I will add very soon).

Hello Simon,

Do I take it from the above that the download link for the latest version now contains the none "Borked" version for the Anan's?

Am I also correct in understanding that you still plan on working on a Protocol 1 version of SDRC to run with the Anan range.
I know at this end full TX for the ANAN and Lime's will be well received.

Hi,

The downloadable version is borked. We’ll be testing 3.0.4 next week some time. I will only support the next protocol (Protocol II).

Hi,

I tried Anan-7000DLE / protocol 2 and SDR-Radio 3.0.3 on Win10/64 1803 running on Core i3-530 using Intel HD Graphics.
SDR-Radio recognizes the Anan without any problem, and runs absolutely fine for about 1 minute, then it stops, no audio, waterfall stops.
Transfer of data from the Anan seems to continue.
Stopping and starting the Anan from SDR-Radio reenables sound, until after approx. 1 minute SDR-Radio stops again.

This was more than expected so far.
Thetis also running fine in this config, and it continues to run without problem.

Let me know if I can be of any help in further testing.

Hey Simon,

PA0FOT’s report sounds like the same thing I reported back on  11 November  in the “v3.0.4 Kit – October 17th, 2018” thread.

I tried turning off the firewall, sending a logfile, but no resolution at that time. Like PA0FOT, my Anan (200D in my case) and PC work okay with P2 and Thetis.

I had the same experience when testing 3.0.3 with my new Anan 7000dle and Win10/64 on I7-6700K with Intel HD and would like to join the test-team.
Will get my HF-1K in Dezember and use it with your Software.

Thank you Simon !

I did not know that the ANAN 7000dle was in the testing fashion.   If so, Simon, can I be added?
