Paul,

This I can support via the serial port, in fact it's something I do have on my list. Via the remote computer I can control serial and parallel ports and the port on the radio.

Hi,

I got to the bottom of this last night, there will be a kit in a day or two.

An important change with RC1 is replacing speed with resolution, higher resolution = slower updates due to the laws of mathematics etc. What you have found is a bug in sending the resolution info to the server.

Just tried server b416 and console b472, but no difference in the Waterfall speed via remote-lan.
Always SLOW.

We plan some very exciting feature with this radio like:

using multiple radios.

Taking SDR to a new level.

The NetSDR is ethernet based instead of USB. The radio is pretty much finished, we are waiting for the FCC and CE testing before we start shipping. The performance is phenomenal compared to the top performers. It will be offered with a reference lock option as well as internal downconverters for VHF. I will be shipping one to Simon next week so he can start testing with it. It uses the same exact protocol as the SDR-IP so it already works with SDR-Radio. It will be priced slightly above the SDR-14 that has been discontinued. We plan some very exciting feature with this radio like diversity reception, adaptive polarity, triangulation, direction finding etc using multiple radios. There are a few other features that we cannot announce yet, but it will be very exciting.

Great news Pieter, it's going to be a dream machine.

Since the Net-sdr has converter switching capabilities, does it also offer remote antenna switching?

If not, will this at some stage being considered?

Hi,

Look in the Statistics tab in the Play IQ Data File pane and let me know the Source value, something line SpectraVue 3.0. (See attached screenshot.)

There is a bug in versions of SV prior to 3.0 which is difficult and sometimes impossible to correct.

Hi Simon,

I notice I get an hour discrepancy in the time displayed whilst playing files that were recorded by Spectravue during British Summer Time. For example, playing a particular file in Spectravue displays the time as (24/05/10) 14:50z, and the same point in the same file is displayed in SDR-Console as (24/05/10) 15:50z. I'm pretty certain the Spectravue time is correct; I wonder if it stores a UTC offset in the file header separately to the time, that isn't picked up by the console?

Dotting the i's and crossing the t's, the console is damn good :D

Re: NetSDR coming soon.

RFSPACE

Joe,

The NetSDR and SDR-IP are both superior and more expensive than the SDR-IQ. We have optimized the sensitivity, 2nd and 3rd order intermod, phase noise and front end filtering. In addition, both SpectraVue and SDR-Radio have new decimation/NCO cores that are highly optimized. The NetSDR is not meant to replace the SDR-IQ since it is at a higher price point.

Thanks Simon for the reply :-)

The Net SDR..............is that basically internet based???? If so, can it operate outside the internet??? If not, then could you point me in a good direction???

Hi,

The NetSDR will blow your mind, it really is that good.

All the docking panes (AF Spectrum, Data Decoder, Grey Line etc.) can float
- drag them to another monitor :) You could drag the AF Spectrum to another
monitor & make it as big as you want but it can use more CPU cycles to do
the graphics.

I am actually working on a User manual, at least I've found a template and
have Office / Word 2007 installed.

Hello

My question is what particular SDR receiver should I get to be able to use
the software??? I am just following the process currently of it's
development. I am assuming a RF Space SDR-IQ or the new Net-SDR. Also, is
the SDR-14 being done away with???

My suggestion (and it might be already on the table) is, like HRD, be able
to use multiple monitors with the software. Like to be able to run the
waterfall on one screen while observing the RF on another. Or even the
filter width to adjust it.

As I said, it is just a suggestion. I know you will be working on this for a
long time. I am thankful for your work. :-)

Thank you Simon

Hi Simon,

Now that 472 is out, I have a request. Can you add a feature to the remote
server that would allow the local owner to also have control of the
frequency setting?

I find that in many cases the remote operator using my SDR-IQ will tune an
SSB station off-frequency and leave it there for the duration of the
connection (sometimes up to an hour). Donald Duck audio is fine for a
cartoon, but not for SDR reception.

Thanks.

Hi Simon,

"Time navigation" using any of the relevant controls when playing a data file works fine, but I noticed that the time-lines on the waterfall (if selected) don't get updated correctly after skipping. Effectively, they seem to be reset to the start time of the recording, no matter where in the file one has navigated to.

GE again.
Just tried server b416 and console b472, but no difference in the Waterfall speed via remote-lan.
Always SLOW.
Remember b416 WF speed is OK.

GE Simon.
Ja, I use SDR_IQ in a remote config on a second pc2 via a lan-switch as my
main pc1 is used for logging\contesting\groups-reading etc etc.
Viewing on the pc1 screen (enlarged desktop over 2 monitors with 2 video
output VGA+DVI).

In the B416Console the speed control works also in remote.

here is the screen-pic:

545962/view?picmode=&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc>
&mode=tn&order=ordinal&start=1&count=20&dir=asc

About the main window memory : when a window is closed and then reopened ,
it stays where it was before.

B472 main window no.
As you see in the attached screen-shot the Console stays on the left side (
enlarged desktop on a second monitor) with AFSpectrum and RXOptions.

Now I switch OFF and reopen and the main window does not open on the left
but on the right side of the desktop.
AFSpectrum,RXOptions and Remote connection windows stay on the left as
before.
All that works OK in the B416 Console.

HI Simon, just put into work the b472.
I am not able to change the speed of the WF it is fixed on a SLOW even if
it
is set to maximum. The Contrast works.
I have RESETted but nothing happens.

Also the memory position on Console EXIT of the main window is not
retained.

So when the Console is reopened , the main window stays at the centre of
the
desktop and AFSpectrum,RXOptions and the Remote connecting windows stay
where I usually have.

All OK on the old b416
