Using a RSPdx with SDRC V3.1 and Laptop with W/10.

All works aok but then I had the bright idea to install VB Audio to get some VAC going so I could run WSJT etc.

That went smooth and was able to make many FB decodes overnight.

1. I wish there was a way to be able to hear what the RSPdx is tuned WHILE it's audio is being ported over to WSJT via the VAC. Is there an easy way of monitoring what the VAC is transferring?

2. The next part has me scratching my head......I am done with WSJT and just want to do some listening on this W10 laptop with the RSPdx. When I go to SDRC/OPTIONS/AUDIO/PLAYBACK/DEVICES I can see my Realtek PC speakers on one line and the VAC on the 2nd line.

I select the Realtek PC speakers, hit OK then re-start SDRC hoping to be able to hear the receiver via the speakers but get zip. Is there an easy way to switch from one to the other? I thought the OPTIONS tab is where I make this selection but apparently not. Thanks

Switch audio device with the dropdown just below the frequency.

 

You can’t monitor a VAC at the moment, additional audio routing is planned.

I was wondering what sort of processing the processor function on the transmit audio is. It seems to improve the average to peak power ratio but only by a relatively small amount. By the comment that it makes the audio harsh I rather assume it implements a similar function to rf clipping. I can’t find any description for it in the audio help. Am I right that the audio alc is syllabic in time constant?

I have had a couple of reports that the audio is a bit thin which set me off on this. Playing with the audio filtering and the equaliser doesn’t quite get me what I want. The headset boom mic is not the most expensive I have to say.

I also have the video card active (Intel HD graphics 4600)  on board the MB which I use however but only for the fourth 50" TV/monitor where I use for Simon's World Map, but normally off without app...

SdrConsole is always on the GTX650 monitor with the latest updated drivers.

I don’t this SDRplay writes the API, it comes from elsewhere, maybe MIRICS?

Increasing by 1 is not a problem. It increased it by sizeof( HANDLE) most likely. And they did it in a manner as to guarantee problems. Worse yet, this can depend on the compiler. It should have been tacked on after "HANDLE dev". Then there is a reasonable chance there will be some backwards compatibility.

Increasing the sdrplay_api_DeviceT structure by 1. OMG! What were they thinking.
And the Duo problems could be related to how sdrplay_api_SwapRspDuoDualTunerModeSampleRate() was changed.

Simon, how did you fix this at runtime? Simply testing for SDRPLAY_API_VERSION I guess.
