Hi Simon,
Thanks for helping me. Attached is the picture I believe you want. Let me know if you need something else. I am seeing these spurs, depending on zoom factor, as I tune every 5 MHz. In this case, I am not. I have offset the cursor, for visibility purposes.
This issue happens on the Elad and Airspy. I haven't checked other SRDs yet.
This situation did not occur in the last version I had installed. 3.0.28. Hope this is easy to fix.
I slid the RF gain to zero and the spike at 19 MHz remained, while the other spikes disappeared. For the picture it is at 6, which is what I have been using.

Re: Signal Shown Mid-screen
Hi Simon, In the 19 MHz picture the bandwidth was set at 10 MHz. When I changed it to 5 MHz, the spike went away. However, on the picture with this email, I am at 135 MHz. The spike is there regardless of the bandwidth I select. Maybe this will help narrow things down. Regards, George, NJ3H Redmond, Oregon USA

Signal Shown Mid-screen
Greetings,
I hope someone can help me with this issue. I am using SDRC version 3.1, Windows 10. Please see the attached picture. I have offset the frequency so that one can see the signal in the picture. Using an Airspy R2 with SDRC: At 145.800 MHz there is an S7 signal. However, if I move the frequency with the slide bars, the signal stays dead center left to right. I am getting these signals in many places. Using the SDR Sharp software, these signals are not there. Using an Elad S2 with SDRC: I am seeing many of these signals similar to the R2 situation described above. If I look outside the 2 meter band, I see these signals every 5 or 10 MHz. If my zoom is increased, then I have seem them every 100 KHz. This situation does not occur with the particular SDR's native software. Can anyone offer any ideas to correct this situation? Please let me know if you need any different views. Regards, George, NJ3H Redmond, Oregon USA

Hi,
Thanks for info. Have a very clear explanation now, thanks to you, and the other respondents. Great Forum and folks, for sure. Just great, as I had a very hard time in trying to get a "good" handle on this. Think I'll try running two receivers (RSPdx and a WinRadio G-31) side by side, simultaneously. Should be interesting. Thanks again; best regards, Bob

Visualizing Zero-Beat - Using WSJTX to Frequency Calibrate the SDR Console
Tom McKee K4ZAD
i searched for this calibration method, and could not find it posted
anywhere, so here goes.
Follow the steps below to frequency calibrate a SDR HF receiver using the WSJT-X software in the WSPR mode. While these instructions will not calibrate to the accuracy required for the ARRL FMTs the results will be more than adequate (2 or 3 Hz) for most purposes. This example is with WSJT-X (V. 2.5.2), an AirSpy HF+ (but any SDR HF RX OK) and SDR Console software (V. 3.1). It assumes that you can receive the 20 MHz WWV signal. With a little ingenuity other frequency standard transmissions could be used. Other SDR software might work similarly, provided that the corrections are made in PPM, not Hz. Assure full warm-up by having the AirSpy HF+ operational for at least one hour. Set the SDR console to receive USB on 19.9985 MHz. The 2.2 KHz filter is adequate. Set the WSJT-X Mode to WSPR, and in View make sure the Waterfall is turned on. Then select: File ---> Settings ---> Frequency Scroll down and right click on the 17M WSPR frequency and select Insert In the box that pops up select All for the IARU Region setting, WSPR for the Mode setting and put 19.9985 in the Frequency (MHz) window. Click OK to save the new frequency. Select 19.998 500 (OOB) from the WSJT-X frequency drop-down menu. After selecting, the band window will show OOB in red, but the frequency in the black box should be 19.9985 MHz. Assuming adequate WWV signal you should see the WWV carrier in the WSJT-X waterfall. If it is not dead on 1500, go to the SDR Console ribbon settings & select Home ---> Calibration. Adjust the Calibration Correction as required to center the WWV carrier on 1500. The PPM adjustments are additive and are saved after exiting the PPM Calibration window. Some trial and error will be required to get the best accuracy. Also, a WWV signal that is too strong will make it harder to achieve the best correction. For me this method is far better than trying to do it by ear. 73, Tom K4ZAD

Re: Instances
D R
Hi Bob,
You can use either method, but Identities provide an easy way to handle your radios if you have more than one or two. If you have several radios you can allocate a separate identity to each (up to nine) and choose which one you want from the menu screen: each radio will then be started in its own "instance" of the program, which will run independently of all other instances. The settings for each instance are stored separately from each other, including radio controls, display settings, size, monitor etc., which make Identities very quick and easy to use. If you have more than nine radios it's just a matter of allocating the extras to one or more identities and selecting the one you want from the 'Select Radio' page which appears when that Identity is started (as in Kriss' suggestion, but with a much shorter list of radios). Identities make it easy to set up different configurations for different tasks (eg satellites / Ham bands / MW / LF etc) and have each one open up ready for use with a couple of mouse clicks - you'll get the idea of what the possibilities are once you start playing with them. Regards, Dave

Re: Instances
Max
Bob
An "instance" is just another copy of the program running in tandem with one or more other running copies. Each instance will be running a different physical SDR. You cannot have two "instances" trying to control the same physical SDR. So for example, if you are transmitting, it's sometimes handy to have another Instance to listen to your transmitted signal (with massive attenuation in place!). Alternatively you might have one instance with 24 preset frequencies listening to airband or trunk radio, and another instance on another SDR for just tuning around the SW Broadcast bands, nether instance interfering with the operation of the other. An "Identity" on the other hand is a stored preset bunch or parameters. So each "Identity" stores it's own windows layout, stored Favourites, Memories etc. etc. So you could run two Instances, each Instance could be either using the same Identity, or two different Identities, depending on your requirements. So in other words each Identity is just a set of memorised settings/layouts. So a possible scenario would be one "Identity" for an SDR you use to monitor just airband with all its own preset Favourites, Memories and panel layouts, and another "Identity" might be set up to use an SDR transceiver, used mostly on the HF bands, with the TX DSP panel enabled, and a load of totally different favourites and memories. Hope it helps. Max

If two conditions are met: 1. Automatic Schedule is OFF 2. You double click on the pass list , then the frequency should change to match the satellite you have selected. 2nd Question: It does match, just a different view based on scale.. Both show AO-7 in the same location, just a different perspective due to zoom level. 73, N0AN Hasan
