Simon,

Spoke a little too soon.

Problem seems to occur when External Radio is launched...freezes when CW pressed.

Happens when either USB or serial port is used with IC-7300...worked FB with 5A release.

does not crash but gives a bit choppy audio with my dualcore laptop and lime running only 2.5 megs :-(

my hardware is tooo slow

and damned windows 7 64 system has already 50% cpu load with just the bare desktop running ... grmbl

upgrading from xp to 7/64 and i have both feet standing on the brake pedal

All working OK here on my pre-release 170424-221 Windows 10.
V3 is on 24/7 with SDR Play and WXtoimg 2.10.11 collecting weather satellite images.

More or less the same here: SDR-Console did recognize the Afedri LAN, but would not start it. It timed out. I have renamed the Console folder in AppData/Roming and now it works as usual.


Works flawlessly for the SDRPlay RSP2 as well.

OK,

 

  1. This could well be a USB power issue – see http://sdr-radio.com/Radios/LimeSDR . “If the radio starts but then stops after a few seconds then you probably have insufficient USB power available. Try another USB port or a powered USB hub. You can also use an external power supply provided it meets the manufacturer's specification.” I haven’t had this problem but others have solved what you see by using a powered hub.
  2. The LimeSDR does use quite a bit of power, USB is limited.
  3. I’ll dig out my LimeSDR and start using it just in case there is an issue. There could well be a bug although there are a few people who use this software with the LimeSDR.
  4. Try a lower bandwidth – this would / could put less stress on the unit.

 

Can other LimeSDR users help here?

I used the reset configuration utility, and deleted both of the Ident# folders.

 

I also checked the box to reset the layout.

 

The next startup worked normally, however the startup after hung the same way.

 

I was working some fellow redditors, so I didn't mess with it. I let it sit 'hung' in the "Not Responding" state.

 

 Around 5 - 10 minutes later, i was startled when static came out of my speakers, and everything worked as I would expect.

 

I'm not sure what to make of it. I could go further and delete registry to see if that clears it up.

Ok. After alot of messing around I got it working. Had to go into windows firewall and allow sdr console through! Using version 6 working fine now.

I assume you mean your using an ELAD FDM-S2?

SW2 is the software for the ELAD.

I think the FDM-S2 uses the HF port for up to 50 Meg. and the VHF port is used for above that. I don't believe there is any switching done in the software. Either in SW-2 or SDR Console.

My setup is hearing signals on the appropriate bands with no switching by me.

Maybe I am mistaken.

SW2 will select the appropriate port whens using ELAD software.
