Re: Pre-preview 6 Kit, June 7th 2017
Should be in the kit I published earlier this week.
The attached screenshot shows the UI for tomorrow’s Preview kit. I’m sure you haven’t seen the Digital Gain, but Resolution should be there I think.

Ben, This shouldn’t be the case. What is the problem – stuttering / breakup in audio or just poor audio quality? You didn’t provide a SCREENSHOT so I have no idea what settings you have selected. Note that you can select * / 16 / 24 bit sample sizes, obviously a higher sample size requires correspondingly higher bandwidth. Windows Task Manager shows the network utilisation, this should also help you diagnose issues. If you add a screenshot I’ll be able to help further. Surprise me – add a SCREENSHOT 😊 . Hi Simon, Thanks for adding the Airspy server support. However, I wanted to let you know that the connection between SDR Console and my Airspy Server (either by VPN or by the Internet) is much worse as the SDR# connection. With the same settings I have 98 % good reception with SDR# but less than 20 % with SDR-Console. (No hard figures, but you understand the difference, much more stuttering) I could share my server IP with you for testing if you need a remote server? |

Re: How to close a Recieiver ?
Jim Smith G0OFE
"Favourites" is a scenario set up with the centre frequency of the radio, the recievers together with their mode/bandwidth set. AS such, your current recieverds will be closed and the ones set with your favourites opened. Simon has spoken of the possibility of adding quick memories at a
later date, which i guess one could then apply to an new reciever
while leaving the others untuouched - but there is no timescale
for this. ================================

Jim - thanks for the reply on how to close a Receiver. A follow up question if I may. Once I have a number of Receivers open, if I click on one of the Favorites I have previously saved, it closes ALL the other receivers. So my question: is there a way to open a Favorite without having your other Receivers close?

Pre-preview 6 Kit, June 7th 2017 with ETTUS

Simon, Great software! When I checked the Kit on a ETTUS N210 (XCVR2450 card) the Antenna Selection was reversed. J2 (Xmit/Rcv port) was turned on when I selected J1. Xmit does not function in this condition. 73, Ray, WA1CYB |

Correct. I did not post my call.
I am able to highlight the VFO numerics. If I hover my cursor on the lower part of the number and give a single click, the freq decrements. If I hover on the upper part and left click, it increments. On 2 laptops, a fairy new ASUS and a Dell a couple of years old..... Hovering over increment and holding the left mouse button of the touchpad(s) down... Just one increment/click. Something not present on HDSDR. It always works. Except left click increments the particular decimal that I point to, right click decrements in HDSDR. Arrow keys do nothing at all except in the freq spectrum window. It is a pretty interface though. |

Supwiddiss,
Not sure what you're having a problem with (not even sure who I'm addressing, as there's no name or call sign anywhere in your post) but holding the right/left buttons rapidly increments/decrements the frequency in 100 Hz steps just fine for me, and the up/down buttons increment/decrement the frequency in 1,000 Hz steps, again just by holding the buttons. Re: Pre-preview 6 Kit, June 7th 2017 - Griffin Powermate
agene
Hi Ken,
I have had a PowerMate for a long time now but have not used it much, however after seeing your post, I decided to try it again. With the latest driver and setting the PowerMate to Vista(Service pack 2) compatability, it is now working fine using the latest update to Windows 10, at least with the RSP2 and using SDRUno as the software.
I set the wheel so that turning the tuning knob scrolls up for clockwise and scrolls down for anti-clockwise and it tunes SDRuno fine. This gives nice fine tuning, however is a bit pointless as you still have to use the mouse to select the RX window and for any coarse tuning or clicking on buttons etc. Maybe someone else has set it to do all sorts of things?

Click on the down pointer in the lower half of the receiver's decription in the ribbon. One option will be Close. Click it. This took me about 4 days to find so don't feel bad. Jim |

Only if you are using a Mac or a Windows computer using XP or Vista. I bought one years ago, assuming it would work on my Windows 7 machine but it didn't. Griffin says that some users have been able to get it to work on a modern version of Windows using one of its compatibility modes. I haven't been that lucky. Response from Griffin on their support website: *This software is not fully compatible with Windows 7, 8, or 10. However, many of our customers report that they are able to use the software in compatibility mode. We hope to have a Windows update available in the future but an immediate ETA for this update is unknown at this time. Just so you know before you commit. 73, Ken On 2017-06-14 6:58 PM, John Talbot

Just an extra box that should not be needed.
Arrow keys, touchpad keys should be sufficient. Even something in options to direct which keys do what. Although it did at first seem like a nice accy. to have, sometime feedback to programmers such as Simon from end users in real world situations make sense. I'm searching for an interface that operates much like the standard dc-to-daylight receiver many of us are used to operating. Whatcha' think, Sims? |

Get a griffin powermate. Easy to install and convert mouse scrolling/ clicks with a " tuning knob". $38 on Amazon. On Jun 14, 2017 17:00, "supwiddiss@... [sdr-radio-com]" <sdr-radio-com@...> wrote:

I sometimes wonder how much splatter is a result of poor antenna design or construction (as in some fan dipoles, maypole antennas or other multi-band antennas) or feed line issues (SWR, various connector problems) or even poorly tuned antenna tuners (just because SWR is low doesn't mean the tuner L-C values are optimal).

The use of the spectrum display as a Spectrum analyzer is amazing. You see a lot of transmissions that are very clean, but also you see others that splatter a lot, probably due to badly designed (or overdriven) linear? amps. Even commercial stations are not free of these things, the Turkish coastal station TAH is an example that reappears from time to time. Also several Airadios splatters a lot. And the Israeli Navy's 4XZ has keying clicks that invades an airband quite busy channel. Also you see bad filtered power supply hum in Broadcast and Wefax stations and so on. 73 de Ignacio, EB4APL El 14/06/2017 a las 19:05, 'Simon

I am admittedly just re-posting what's on other groups and the excellent SDR-RADIO.com blog. How long have we had HD Radio here in the US? It's been cracked. It should only be a matter of time before we can start decoding HD Radio. (Well, it'll probably be via servers located in Brazil or other places that do not enforce software patents, as Ibiquity surely will file lawsuits.)
