Re: WTB: LNA4ALL

I don’t need to measure it, as it is specified in the manual by Elad. See page 23.
The Noise floor at 500Hz BW at 91.1MHz is -138dBm with the Preamp on and NR off.
Convert to dBm/Hz
So Elad say 9dB, I believe them, not so amazing and typical. When the band is open then 9dB is adequate, but the weak stuff needs a little better.

9dB, really? Have you measured this?
Seems amazing…

Absolutely, the S3 has a noise figure of 9dB with the preamp on, This is really not good enough, I have determined that I would like 4dB or so here in my quiet location. So, to achieve this I will use an external LNA. So not 101% but 100% 😉
Dynamic range is still good enough with S3 preamp off.

Hi,
I do have one I don't use but the S3 really shouldn't need a pre-amp, are you 101% sure you need this?

I want an LNA for Band II to go with my FDM-S3. I have a good BPF. The LNA4ALL is just a PGA103+ that has a bias T facility so it will do nicely. Has anyone got a spare one for sale or something similar?

Re: SDRC V3.1 with Win11
Decided to build everything new to the remote SDRC server and all is working FB again.. maybe better than before after years of garbage files and broken links.
Thanks all for the guidance.... much appreciated.... this time I used my remote router ddns in the address field of the SDR in case of remote power loss. Regards, -- Larry - K1UO

Laws provide for the prosecution of the person(s) who
killed you. Personal weapons provide a chance to keep you alive.
Personal weapons also provide for correcting improper governmental
behavior provided enough people get together and act at the same
time, as happened following the USA's Declaration of Independence
from Britain. (And note that in the early days of the USA personal
ownership of artillery weapons and even warships was perfectly
legal and even used by the government as authorized privateers.)
This worked nicely until the US grew too many buttholes in the
cities.

Felons are not allowed to have firearms. That does
not in any way stop felons from acquiring firearms. Heck, felons
are not allowed to do a great number of things that they still do,
such as repeat their crime once released from prison. Laws provide
two things, a warning that society will treat law breakers
appropriately according to the crime they commit and a structure
for that treatment. It does not magically prevent evil deeds.

Depending on how exotic his front end devices may be
it's not all THAT difficult to move from machine to machine. The
hard part is that each of his front ends (samplers) must be
installed on its own. For example Zadig must be used for rtlsdr
dongles and not used for AirSpy dongles. (You simply plug in the
latter and it establishes the correct connections.) Then install
SDR Radio.

On the old machine run SDRConsole but don't start anything. Select the tools menus. Then click the "Tools->Registry" selection (accept the UAC request) and click the "tools->files->user folders" selection. Then exit SDRC. You will have the Registry editor and a file with some ".sqlite" and ".xml" files in it. In the registry editor you have a tree view on the left with bunches of entries showing on the right. Track up the tree view two levels to the "SDR-Radio.com (V3)" level and highlight that tree node selection. Right click on that selection and select "Export". That will bring up a requester asking you where to put it. Give it a name such as "SDRC old.reg" and click save. Then exit regedit. In the file folder click the little up arrow three times. You should end up in a folder name ending in "AppData\Roaming" with a folder named "SDR-Radio.com (V3)". Click conrol-C to copy the folder. Go to where you saved the "SDRC old.reg" and press control-V/ When the copy finishes drag out a dongle and copy both the "SDR-Radio.com (V3)" folder you copied and the .reg file you created over to the dongle. You are now done with the old machine. Proceed to the new machine and move the dongle over to the new machine. On the new machine run SDRConsole but do not start any radios, since nothing is setup inside SDRC yet. Select the tools menus. Then click the "Tools->Registry" selection (accept the UAC request) and click the "tools->files->user folders" selection. Then exit SDRC. You will have the Registry editor and a file with some ".sqlite" and ".xml" files in it. Now we are set to preserve the as installed settings for SDR-Radio.com (V3). In the registry editor you have a tree view on the left with bunches of entries showing on the right. Track up the tree view two levels to the "SDR-Radio.com (V3)" level and highlight that tree node selection. Right click on that name and select rename. Append " Old" to the name. Close the registry editor. In the file folder click the little up arrow three times. You should end up in a folder name ending in "AppData\Roaming" with a folder named "SDR-Radio.com (V3)". Click on that folder name, right click, select "Rename". Append " Old" to the "SDR-Radio.com (V3)" name. Leave the folder open so you can copy into it. The new machine is now prepped to accept setup data from the old machine. Open a second file folder showing the dongle where you placed the folder and reg file. Copy the dongle's "SDR-Radio.com (V3)" folder into the file location you left open above. Then double click on the ".reg" file on the dongle and accept the requester(s) that come up. You are done with it all. Now run SDRConsole. It should be a whole lot like the version you left. That seems like a lot to do. But it's really quick for somebody used to doing this sort of thing. This could be scripted except that renaming registry entries from a script appears to be impossible (insert appropriate censorable content here.). I wonder if I could tweak up a little (f)utility to do the job. Probably yes but probably not soon enough to be convenient for you. {^_^} On 20220423 04:28:56, Siegfried
