Re: V3 build 940 crash when more than 8 receivers were open and questions about audio recording
Victor,
Excellent report, thanks. Will look at reducing this further now, have managed to get a crash on another system so must also find that as well.

Simon,
Thanks. Got the file and will try it tonight, Is it necessary to uninstall the V3 built 940 before installing the test kit? |

Re: V3 build 940 crash when more than 8 receivers were open and questions about audio recording
Hi,
I just sent you a link to a 32-bit kit which uses a lot less memory on my 32-bit Windows 7 system. Feedback requested 😊 .

At the mean time, I can temporarily reduce the memory usage by setting the "bandwidth" to a lower value e.g. to 2 MHz / 1 MHz etc. |

This also works well.

Re: Center signal. With no antenna sig it's there and with antenna it's modulated
Alan G4ZFQ
in the center a signal that
also is present with the antenna disconnected (pic 1) ,Kees, This is normal with soundcard SDRs. Avoid using the centre. and is modulated when antenna is connected (pic 2).Maybe due to very strong local AM station? More noticeable on high bands because noise is lower there. If so a High Pass Filter would help. 73 Alan G4ZFQ |

Hi,
Wait for a new kit, memory used on 32-bit systems is nicely lower.

Re: Oct 23 Preview Does Not Record To C: And No Error Message
I can't record to C root. If I select a folder, everything's ok. If I select the root of an external drive, everything's ok.
If not to record to C root is intentional, maybe there should be an error message. (And to be honest, I don't record to C root, it was just a quick & dirty test to see how the new preview performed). Bjarne Mjelde arcticdx.blogspot.com Remote rx: kongsdr.proxy.kiwisdr.com:8073/ ============================================== Bjarne, Under later versions of Windows, direct write access to C: may involve going through one or two security hoops, so the problem may not be in SDR Console. Re: V3 build 940 crash when more than 8 receivers were open and questions about audio recording
Simon,
Most of the time, I only concentrate on the frequency spectrum display window to look for frequencies with signal. If the waterfall display can be switched off / disabled, does it affect the demodulation / processing of the signal or reduce the memory usage (in that case, a button will be needed to toggle ON/OFF the waterfall display)? |

Re: audio stutter with Airspy decimation
Hi,
Great screenshots, many thanks.
Please look at http://www.sdr-radio.com/Radios/Airspy/AirspyServer which I wrote yesterday. Your CPU load is not too high, I see you have 5 (maybe more) receivers – you could try just using 1 or 2 and see how that works?
Looking at the logfile you do have stutter, *maybe* due to running all receivers through the same soundcard, if this is not the case then increasing the Buffering may help.

Mark,
Concerning the CPU usage, reducing the waterfall speed (VIEW/SPEED) can significantly reduce the CPU usage. It seems that 4G is the RAM size limit for 32-bit Windows. In my case, adding RAM is impossible unless updating to 64 bit Windows or simply buy a new up-to-date computer system. The only thing I can do is reducing the RAM usage of SDR Console. In my case, the value is about 1.5G. What kind of setting can be changed to reduce the programme RAM usage? |

There is a free version that works just fine for doing backups, I use it quite a bit and it works rather well.
