But alas, the ISP can't handle even a 30kHz operating bandwidth (stutters on every bandwidth selection) and it appears to have no antenna.
No contact information either. (sigh)

Hi Simon,

I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining, but have you had any further time to look into USRP Tx capability?

Am very excited at the prospect with your otherwise wonderful s/w.

Erik.

As Mike replied, link over to the URL he provided in his message.  You have to scroll downward by a couple of screens.  There are two  ‘locations’ from which to download SDR Console.  The first one you’ll come to is for the latest stable version 3.1, dated 12-Apr-2022.  Make sure to pick the correct one for your operating system... 32-bit or 64-bit.  The 32-bit version will work on both 32-bit and 64-bit systems, but the 64-bit will only work on 64-bit operating systems.

If you scroll down a bit farther, you’ll come to the second location from which you can download the latest beta version, which is currently beta 3.2, build 2645, dated 24-Jun-2022.

Good luck.

Not much of a reply. Were I using my B200 in anger then I would dig through the code and write a dedicated DLL for just the B200 / B210.

Shame.

HI Larry - Sorry for the long delay; somehow this message got dropped &
we're just seeing it now, months after the fact! Thank you for the note. We
get this sort of criticism regularly, especially for Windows because that's
our lease[sic]-best supported OS. UHD is an amazing piece of software that
allows relatively easy addition of new SDRs, whether USRPs or some other
type that just wants to be compatible, and new features to existing SDRs.
The relative ease means complexity internally, some of which can indeed slow
things down while still being amazingly robust. That said, I'd guess even on
Windows that one can get better throughput than noted, though admittedly
much depends on the CPU (speed, cores, memory) and UHD settings. Thanks
again! - MLD

With ETTUS the problem is the support dll (UHD.dll). I can’t get my B200
running at much more than 24MHz bandwidth, haven’t looked at UHD.dll for
quite a while. The UHD.dll code is by no means optimal, *very* difficult to
optimise due to its size and complexity, all unnecessary IMO

Were I commercial person I would write a new support dll for a specific
Ettus device, this may well be the only way to get it running properly.

I hacked a little and got SDRSharp to run happly on the MKII with a 60 MHz level bandwidth. Going much above that would probably be a problem with USB 3.1. I've not worked out the math, though. 120 million 16 bit samples per second is a bit under 2 GHz data rate. You'd need 10 gig Ethernet to handle it. And a 1 GHz net would possibly have problems with the full RX888 (not MKII) bandwidth. These days the Ethernet offered on most computers is "slow".

Are you trying to use SDRConsole? It sounds like you are trying to use HDSDR. Damnifino how to make it work. Visit HDSDR based lists for that help. For help with SDRConsole this is the place. Despite having a half dozen of the dreadful little things I am trying to forget what I know. Fortunately it should be plug and play above about 30 MHz. Although below maybe 100 MHz it's not very sensitive in my experience. For HF there is a setting accessible for the rtlsdr dongles that can allow HF use. I have better stuff to use on HF so I don't go near HF with the rtlsdr dongles. Some other folks here do.

So for HDSDR this is not really the place to try. For SDR-Radio (V3)'s SDRConsole program this is it. You can get help at https://www.sdr-radio.com/. Look under the Radios selection drop list for "RTL Dongles".

Besides your uninstall.exe program is way to aggressive IMHO.

I had this directory layout:.
* f:\gv\dx-radio\SDR-Radio the v3.1 version that worked.
* f:\gv\dx-radio\SDR-Radio\v.3.2-beta the latest version that crashes.

Then running f:\gv\dx-radio\SDR-Radio\uninstall.exe wiped everything!
