Hello,
Actually there is a decoder using RTL-SDR. https://www.rtl-sdr.com/decoding-and-listening-to-hd-radio-nrsc-5-with-an-rtl-sdr/ 73 Eric |

Ignore my last - MassDrop OK I get it now I thought you meant the
Off-Topic sub group. How about opening a private browser tab then using an email address? I think that is how I did it. ================================== Yes I tried that and it worked (and apologies to the owners of null.com),and whilst interesting, I don't do anything below ~70 MHz. Strange it didn't want mine, oh now I come to think of it I don't have a Facebook account.

I would have thought there is a way to avoid that (other than having no friends ;-)) I wonder if it already has that access as part of the parent group or if it is a new "feature"? I'm totally with you on not letting the databases mate. No worries, catch 22, not worth joining if nobody's joining.

The KiwiSDR is on MassDrop at the moment (till 8th August). www.massdrop.com/buy/seeed-kiwisdr-kit 0-30MHz networked SDR for not very much (once you log in and see the $80 off). [] Stu ========================== To log in it requires access to my Facebook friends list! No, thanks! SDR - Off topic
Stu C <stu@...>
I would post this in the Off-topic sub section but very few have joined that part (hint, hint).
The KiwiSDR is on MassDrop at the moment (till 8th August). www.massdrop.com/buy/seeed-kiwisdr-kit 0-30MHz networked SDR for not very much (once you log in and see the $80 off). Now before people rightfully ask why would I mention an SDR that is (!)browser only(!) on here? it's because SDR's are often used as an overview before firing up a real radio, well I use a KiWi as an "overview on an overview" before firing up Simon's excellent kit. I cannot easily check conditions on my "Landfill Android" with SDR Console but I can with the Kiwi. Is the audio the same on the Kiwi? er no, not by a long shot, so for longer listening I would demand the quality of SDR Console to the high compression used on the Kiwi, is the interface or feature set comparable? no, no it isn't, but if you want a way of firing up a receiver or eight (four only with waterfall) on your home network from anywhere on virtually anything it's just the ticket. Oh and before the next person buys one and says there is a few second audio delay so he can't work mode-X^y, yes you right it's not for everyone... Stu |

Re: Probably a dumb question about shortwave and ham radio

Thought I would post an update after I got my SDRplay RSP1A working. I am attaching a MP3 recording from tonight of Radio New Zealand international. Can't think of any place much further away LOL. Sounds fantastic to me. Thanks again for all your help.

Hello Jay,

there is no API, but there is another option. You can can put whatever API you want into users_hwaredriver.c or users_extra.c. Linrad could then read frequencies and file names from files that you would specify in those files. Now, these functions are currently available after you have entered a receive mode. This means that you would have to start Linrad and tell it the name of your recording and then start it in FM mode before you can take control from the outside. There is also a html5 interface to Linrad, but it is in a very early stage and I would need help to make it meaningful. The idea was to present an API for html5/javascript but it was long ago and I have now forgotten everything about it. Can you explain in more detail what you want and why - maybe off list - not understanding what you really want makes it hard for me to suggest solutions. 73 Leif Leif, |

I imagine there's no equivalent for the US IBOC (HD-Radio) system as it's played very close to the vest and is typically only available in car radios.

Hi Simon,
Just a friendly reminder (as requested) that we are very excited at the possibility of expanding the satellite functionality in V3 to be more similar to HRD - allowing the SDR RX and external radio TX frequencies to automatically stay in sync. Thanks, Alex VA3ASE |

Re: Delta 44 sound card question - Stereo Mix available??

I do not know but I use free VBCable and it works fine though you seem not wanting to go that way. I have found no problems and am not sure why you want to avoid using a virtual audio software.

Leif,
Does Linrad expose these functions via an API as well or only through the GUI? This is for an automated service. Jay |

Re: Decode CW / RTTY via RTL-SDR
Siegfried Jackstien
any digital modes software that can decode the mode you wanna decode (in this case cw) just use ANY sdr soft that works with the rtl dongle and connect that to ANY decoding software with either using stereomix or with using virtual audio cable (vac) easy as baking cakes ..... greetz sigi dg9bfc ps multipsk can control rtl dongle and decode dozens of modes ... Delta 44 sound card question - Stereo Mix available??
Chris Wilson
31 July 2018
I have a PC I am setting up as a dedicated WSPR monitor / beacon running Windows XP Pro so I can use my venerable Delta 44 sound card with "good" drivers. My question is, does the Delta 44 have the equivalent of "Stereo Mix" whereby I can pipe the output of say HDSDR to WSJT-X without having to use more software like VAC? Thanks for any insight! -- Best regards, Chris mailto:chris@... |
