Do note that it usually appears to come with a $9.95/month charge. You might want to cancel that. {^_^} On 20220828 20:03:14, Brent Seres/

Thanks I'll look into it tomorrow. Sort of on the same topic of CPU load. I'm running the server on a second laptop in the basement. I get very high CPU load related to a process called dsone.exe which appears to be running in the background. Anyone know what this is and how to eliminate it?

I've not seen this CPU but the spec. does show two very usable cores. My guess is that it's the graphics and FFT.

i offered him a remote session via teamviewer to tune the cpu load down (as you sure remember my atom tablet also has a tiny cpu compared to what i use now) maybe i can get it working with not toooo high load !?!? greetz sigi dg9bfc

Re: Fw: [SDR-Radio] No RSP useable in SDR Console
#sdrplay
Late to the party here, but I have been running V3.2 with API 3.10 since they were both available. I can only speak for the RSP1 and RSP1A but they work fine.
I am using Win 10 Pro 64 bit and all updated. Only SDR Console and SDR Uno seem to work with API 3.10, any other software needs API 3.09. Some points, you need to delete any previous definitions and start fresh. Also if you tried API 3.10 and it didn't work for you SDRPlay report that you can't just install API 3.09 over the top, you have to follow the procedure on their site otherwise 3.09 wont work either. Remember when changing API versions you will need new definitions. -- Martin m3ghe |

Actually,
Looking at the spec. for this chip it's not so bad, so a screenshot that is readable will help.

DavidThanks for your comments, Lars. Given the title of the topic, I was considering 137 MHz alone in the comparisons. You need an appropriate antenna for weather satellites, and given that, I would expect the Airspy HF+ to be quite adequate for the purpose, unless you have a very long feeder cable in which case you would need a pre-amp. I would expect that to apply to most other receivers as well. One issue to consider is whether you have strong local signals on frequencies passed by your antenna. If so, without filtering, a more expensive receiver /may/ do better than the Airspy HF+ Discovery. If something "sounds crazy" - there may be a good reason. I am talking about Airspy HF + Discovery. For the money it is a good radio, absolutely. I will not deny that on certain SW frequencies Airspy comes through a little more clearly, but in LW and MW area Elad S2 becomes superior. Living in a smaller town north of Copenhagen in Denmark very close to the coast, I am normally able to receive radio Manila during evening/night. Both are connected to a wellbrook loop antenna via the Elad ASA 15 antenna splitter amplifier. Here Elad S2, with or without the ASA 15 amplifying, receives the signal stronger and (hence) much more clearly, just to give you an example. On VHF I use the G305e with an VHF amplifier and antenna, both from Winradio. It may sound crazy, but this outperforms both Elad and Airspy HF+. Broad FM is a ‘joke’ in both Airspy and Elad. Further, normally using only SDRC 3, it is easier to handle Elad than Airspy, fx. in connection with NR. The same when using the ASA 15 for amplification. Satellites can come in sporadically, but I don’t have the right antenna equipment here. |

Re: Very high CPU load with the AirSpy mini

with a bit of tuning on the settng you can get the cpu load down waterfall speed is one example... spectrum reslution is next i used sdrc v3 on a small and slowish tablet with an atom cpu and even on a core 2duo console works fine with the settings in console you can either make it run smooth (and low cpu load) ... or stuttering (with high cpu load) close all not needed things, switch wf speed from 40lines7sec (default) down to mqybe 10 lines/sec one fourth of pixels to draw means nearly one fourth of cpu load (not exact but comes close) default settings in console are for powerfull pc did you try the "low power" setting (see picture) ... that also helps to tune the cpu load down feel free to ask for more details about how to tune cpu load downwards ... if it works on slower machines then it also should run fine on your zenbook dg9bfc sigi Am 27.08.2022 um 10:28 schrieb Alex
