Re: World Map v1.0.5
Simon,
Some more suggestions: - Clock size less than 100% - Configurable local/utc clock or add an extra clock (my computer clock is on UTC, I would like to show the local time) ---------------------- 73 de Max, N5NHJ (I8NHJ) |

Re: High CPU usage when AirspyHF+ is used as server
So,
Switched on my netbook, hadn’t used it for 4 years! I’m thinking that this old ATOM chip doesn’t have enough grunt for the HF+, we’ll see.

Please don't laugh, the little netbook works great as a server. Operating SDRC locally on it is asking too much for the little bugger (build 1234 currently for test purposes). Reinstalling 1241 after this is sent |

No,
Haven’t seen 10S. makes sense to only allow trusted apps – for now at least.

Yes,
Somewhere I saw a similar program which showed the attached in the shadow area.

Re: High CPU usage when AirspyHF+ is used as server
Thanks,
I have something similar. I really doubt the HF+ code will run properly. Please show me the logfile for this netbook:
The logfile will show me what the netbook CPU options are. I think you’re way below my minimum spec., we’ll see though.

Kriss, Mystery solved. I guess I must have missed that new feature in all he mail traffic. Will flash it later just need to do some chores first. Thanks for your help. Re: Gain on SDR Server vs Spyserver using Airspy HF+
When you flash it from the original (Dec 2017) you will get the extra gain buttons. The first time requires opening of the case and shorting out two solder pads:
https://airspy.groups.io/g/main/message/28251 The following is from there (Thanks to WZ2Q) First-Time Update (Recovery Procedure:) Due to a bug in the first firmware, this procedure must be used for the first firmware upgrade. Subsequent updates should work with the standard procedure above. 1. Open the HF+ enclosure 2. Connect the device to the PC 3. Short the Erase pins for one second (see the photo) 4. Disconnect the device from the PC 5. Connect the device again 6. Double click on flash.bat 7. Wait until it flashes and verifies the data 8. Disconnect the device from the PC 9. Connect the device again 10. Done Subsequent Updates (Standard Firmware Upgrade Procedure:)1. Connect the unit to the PC 2. Double click on flash.bat 3. Disconnect the device from the PC 4. Connect the device again 5. Done R1.2 - 2018-02-15 This revision adds manual settings for the Preamp and the AGC Threshold. The new functionality requires SDR# r1640 or later, but is backward compatible with older software.

Re: Gain on SDR Server vs Spyserver using Airspy HF+
Paul Mclaren MM0ZBH
Kriss, Thanks. I will check again when in the shack later and might put my money in 2) below: 1) I don't get the four options you have in the left hand yellow box. I only get Visual Gain. 2) I'll need to check auto mute - it could be that but it is that type of issue I am experiencing. 3) Visual Gain does not work when using SDR Server but does work when using Spyserver. Alps just for info running 3.0.3 and original batch HF+ which I have never re-flashed as I don't have any issues (yet). I would just use Spyserver but SDR Server is a lot better at handling strong nearby signals on the hambands (Simon's special code I guess) Regards Paul On Sat, 22 Sep 2018 at 03:22, Kriss Kliegle <kliegle@...> wrote: Here's the gain adjustments and auto mute (not enabled), all on the "home" tab: |

I'm creating a 'new' thread to see what other server system operators see when a user operates their AirspyHF+ acting as a server. The high CPU load causes the audio and waterfall to stutter at any bandwidth. The same computer runs an SDR-iq at 192kHz with no issues at all, excellent audio/waterfall. |

Here's the gain adjustments and auto mute (not enabled), all on the "home" tab:
PS: Visual Gain does audio and waterfall, try cranking it up! 73 Kriss KA1GJU |
