Setting the bandwidth below 2048 Khz on sdrconsole V3
#sdrconsolev3
xfailed@...
Hi, I'm currently using sdrconsole V3 using a rtl_tcp server on another PC.
In local network it works fine when I select the bandwidth above 2048 Khz, but when I'm on the network internent this limit is too high for the RTL_TCP server flow and I have cut because the bandwidth is too much high. I would like to be able to set in the window select radio and the dropdown bandwith have the possibility of being able to select 250 khz, I know it's possible but I do not know why in writing the code you do not give the possibility to be able to select this bandwidth. Thank you for giving me the reason and know if eventually you intend to make an update going in this direction. best regards Joel. |

SDR console output I/Q full bandwidth

Massimiliano Corte
Hi, what's the method to export in real time the I/Q data flow (up to 5.12 MHz 16 bits) coming from IC-R8600 to SDR Console v3.0.3 to a GNU Radio platform (3.7.x.x on Windows 7 64 bits)? BR, Massimiliano |

I think it is a testament to the performance of your brilliant software. I am running 24 VFOs (along with 24 instances of JAERO) and 24 VAC's. Yes - the computer is grunting and groaning and total CPU loading is 84-92%, but it manages brilliantly ! Cheers, Chris At 12:39 AM 31/10/2018, you wrote: Hi, |

I have a couple of machines with Windows, altho I very seldom boot into it. The usual reasons: I don't like its obscurity--you can't get to what you want to do--and its susceptibility to malware. --doug, WA2SAY |

Re: Stuttering
Paul Abernethy (G8HGG)
Hello Simon,
I have further observations to make regarding this problem. I recently replaced my client machine with a more powerful one and the problem is still present. I have discovered that if I record either data or mp3 audio file, the stuttering is not present when I run the playback. So, it appears that the digital to analogue conversion process is interacting with the network traffic. This problem does not occur if I listen to someone else's server over the Internet, or if I interpose a "virtual cable" between the console and the audio DAC. I attach some screen-shots of my network from "Performance Monitor". Stutter occurred during the 44kHz and 192kHz examples, the 30kHz Internet and Virtual Cable examples did not. The 44kHz bandwidth stutter seemed worse. Hoping this is helpful regards Paul |

I've tried it a few dozen times in wine, i seem to recall that wine balked at the batch installer. So I bought a used windows pc just for this. :) On Tue, Oct 30, 2018, 13:52 doug <dmcgarrett@...> wrote: I wonder if anyone has successfully run any of G4ELI's software on Linux |

SDR on Linux?

I wonder if anyone has successfully run any of G4ELI's software on Linux under WINE? If so, I'd like to
hear from him or her, with any comments that might be useful. Thanx--Doug, WA2SAY |

Re: But can it transmit?
Hi,
I am not going to write an external radio control program like Ham Radio Deluxe, I don’t see the point.
I’m still not clear why you want to switch the external radio to TX via this software, doesn’t your logbook support this?

I ink I can clarify. By looking at your CAT/Serial system:
Is it possible to make these variables write, IF, TX, RX, FT, FR? I think, then SDR-Console could send info out, to allow controlling other radios, or bandswitching, TX/RX control. Like, with me, I am using the Udoo X86 Ultra. It has an Arduino built on. I can output the CAT to it & control the RF section of an 857D & do TX/RX control. I would think that the hams, like myself, would love it. I have already tested a CAT program on the Udoo/Arduino & it works good. Of course, I may be wrong in my idea, it may work. Thank you, Ed |

Re: Version 3 >24 VFOs
Hi,
I’ve just run 24 VFOs – wasn’t bad but the main program thread was at 100%. Before I consider increasing this limit I must do some performance work.

So basically for the External Radio function we should have a button in the External Radio window that could key up your connected external radio. Joe On Oct 30, 2018, at 3:37 AM, Simon Brown <simon@...> wrote:

Well, I for one am a BIG fan of keyboard (and auxiliary controller) functions of the sort you're speaking about.
But I'm not claiming to be representative, in fact not even active since V3 release that I donated for :). |

Out of interest, why 26 VFOs?
My biggest issue is overloading the graphics, so I should add an option to reduce the UI in the VFO windows.
