Is your rotator connected to your PC for antenna control?

 

If yes would suggest an earth loop between the PC and antenna control box as I had the same issues here.

The answer was to connect the rotator to the PC and not to use USB hubs or any other type of device.

I can make the waterfall of my SDR-Console v3.0.3 (with Airspy HF+) stop and/or crash (disappear) by switching On and/or Off my Rotor.
That is more or less reproducible.

 

So maybe you can relate your freezes or crashes to the power On or Off of something too..

 

Just my two cents.

I know nothing about that  kit specifically but looks serial based, serial devices with the wrong baud rate can have that sort of behaviour.

You should be able to check the baud rate with a serial program like TTTY or Hyperterminal
If the BAUD is wrong you may see garbage or nothing.
Identify what it is sending at and set that in the console (assuming you can).

Hi all,

I have been trying to use cwskimmer with SDR Radio by using I/Q signal.

I’m using Elecraft K3, with IF (8215kHz) to Perseus, then SDR-Radio as panadapter, and CwSkimmer feed through Virtual Audio Cable.

I have the following config:

SDR Radio -> OmniRig1 Elecraft K3

Pair port for Skimmer (com7-com8)

CwSkimmer (setup as manual): Audio IF 0Hz (sampling rate 48kHz)

The trouble is that I see an offset of 24kHz, but if I put 24kHz into Audio IF, I loose the signals.

The same trouble if I try to swap I/Q or if I set -24kHz.

Had someone the same troubles?

Or can someone help me to resolve the trouble?

I do not understand either. When DX4WIN queries VFO with IF; it should be able to read frequency and mode from the reply. Except for mode SAM where SDRConsole returns a two digit value which results in a wrong reply lenght of 39 instead of 38. But SAM normally is not the mode hams use.
I have no explanation why DX4WIN is not working.

One clarification, please:

Have been playing around with the Frequency Database, and eibi.
Have loaded it, works fine, and am very happy with it.

But, I (still) just cannot see any way to have the first column be time (or Start/Stop) rather than freq.
It would be nice, for me at least, to go to the time I am listening, and see what might be on at that time.

Any way of making time the first column ?
I have a feeling that it is not an option, but, as usual, I might have missed something.

When I downloaded eibi, I did select the by time file option, but that didn't do it.
Any way to ?   (or add to the "wish list" ?)

At least there seems to be some confusion in HFCC import.
The column Org Country shows the abbreviation of the location (e. g. WRB = Morrison or WCR = Nashville) while the location column is empty. Nevertheless HFCC import is not trivial as it consists of several lookup tables (eg. site.txt).

From the Satellite window click on Help, Home and this will take you to Simon's online Satellite Help Page.

It will answer pretty well all of the questions you have raised, except for the following.

The Main Display  does not change under Doppler correction. The only indication of Doppler during a pass is that you have already mentioned.

The one that pops up alongside Range and Radio etc.

STarted playing around again with SDR-Radio Console  3.0.3 the other night specifically to integrate satellite frequency tracking to my Funcube Pro+ RX.  I should probably try and find the manual online but unlike the version 2 versions, there are no helpful included PDFs (I know that they are in fact in the works).

Playing around led me to some issues and questions that maybe other users could enlighten me on.

I get The satellites window to track satellites fine.  If a frequency list is available for the satellite selected, the program does change the frequency of the SDR to the frequency listed just fine as well.  The satellite tracking window does show me the Doppler offset (Below the map), but despite the "Track Satellites" button being engaged, and the settings set to track Doppler 60 seconds before the pass starts, no frequency shift seems to occur as i would expect on the main VFO display.  I really should expect to see that display to be moving downward during a pass.  If it were to track Doppler actively, will manually changing the frequency on the main display continue the tracking from the newly selected point?

Second question.  I do see how to edit the frequency list for each satellite.  I have the option checked to "Load 1st frequency in list" for the selected satellite, which as I mentioned above, does work.  What is not intuitive is how you would select a second (alternate) frequency from the list for that satellite, and get it to transfer to the VFO.  That function did not seem obvious to me.

Relating to the satellite frequency lists, has anybody, with more time on their hands than I, ever done the leg-work (Actually finger work) and used the "All Satellites frequency list" published and updated very regularly by JE9PEL ( http://www.ne.jp/asahi/hamradio/je9pel/satslist.htm )  Is there a way to import an external data source into the satellite frequency list.  Maybe I am asking for a reinvention of the wheel if there is a way to take information from the general "Frequency database" section of the SDR-Radio-Console program?  

This is a very active list and I am sure many will have answers and I will say "Duh" when I see the answers.

Hello Folks,

New user of Console.
Impressive software.

Question:  I downloaded the .csv file from eibi, after selecting the "sorted by Time" option.

In the frequency database window that shows the eibi download in the program, the first column
is sorted by frequency, lowest to highest.

But what I would like in the first column is what I had thought
I downloaded, the sorted by time.

Any way I can have ascending time in the first column so I can see what is on the air for the particular
time I am listening ?

But a bigger concern is the way how to fill a comun with other information.
