SDR Console w/Lime SDR - Case Study

freelance@...
Hi,
I'm working with Lime Microsystems to highlight interesting projects in the community, and I saw that SDR Console's next release is going to include transmit support for the LimeSDR radio family - which is great news! I'd love to write up a case study for the Lime Microsystems Community site. Simon: Would it be possible to send across a list of questions for the piece, covering things like your background, the development of SDR Console, and the like? SDR Console/LimeSDR users: Are any of you playing with the beta release at the moment using LimeSDR hardware? I'd love to include your thoughts in the piece! You can get in touch with me via the group or on freelance@.... Cheers, -Gareth |

Re: Visual gain: no change when changing level (?)
Just in case, as the kid of the signal I took for the captures before graphically changes a lot by its own nature, here I'm attaching two more:
Visual gain = - 40 dB: Visual gain = 30 dB: 73 de Gaspar EA6AMM |

Re: Option to disable I/Q recording file splitting / Record to single file.
Eric,
Sorry, the maximum size of a WAV file is 2GB on Windows, 4GB on some other operating systems.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAV#Limitations
I may use a different file format in the future.

Re: Server busy when CAT starts
Hi Ezio I just used this without any problem for the IC-7400 for changing frequency and so on. TX on I do not know it it works but I used just an optocoupler from RS232 to mike in TX Kind regards Kurt de OZ7OU Fra: main@SDR-Radio.groups.io <main@SDR-Radio.groups.io> På vegne af f5mwa

Server busy when CAT starts
f5mwa
Hello everybody,
I vaguely remember this subject having been discussed on this group some time ago, but I no longer remember if there was a solution to it. When I switch on my transceiver most of the time a window comes up saying "server busy" and you have the choice to "switch to the other program" "Retry" and "cancel". the latter is nor highlighted and does not work. Retry opens the window again...One is stuck, for a while with this d......window which does not want to disappear, even after having made sure Omnirig is switched on. After , say, more than 5 attempts to kill the window finally it disappears and the CAT can (sometimes) start working again. But only sometimes, because one has to go to tools/ options and make sure the speed of the interface matches the speed of the menu window above. Sometimes one has to go back and fort 3 or 4 times before the CAT starts working properly. SDRConsole V. 3 is a wonderful program and the work of Simon has been awesome. But the CAT connection is really a pain in the a...... I really hope he comes up with a CAT like HDSR or even SDRuno who work flawlessly. The transceiver is an ICOM IC-7410 with a standard USB interface. As for the other transceiver, the old IC-7400 (=IC-746Pro) with a serial to USB interface converter I have got gray hairs to have it running properly. I've tried 3 different market interfaces to no avail. Once in a 100 times the connection works but this is really the exception to the rule....Any clues at least for how to kill the pop-up window at the start? Many thanks and Merry Xmas to all. Visual gain: no change when changing level (?)
Hi,
I can't seem to perceive any changes when switching different levels of Visual gain on v 3.03, using an AirSPY HF + as receiver (S.O = WIN 10 Home 64. The only difference between the two images is because of QSB. (By the way, I don't know what kind of difference should I see when changing Visual gain levels) Some help with this, please? Thank you very much. 73 de EA6AMM, Gaspar |

Re: NEWBIE-v2.0.3 build 1263
Others
have answered the frequency issue but just to say there is no problem using
dongles with Windows 7, I have used several variations of dongle plus a RSP1A on
my Win7 laptop with no issue.

, I get fm broadcast but i dont get any shortwave,As other have said the basic dongle only does VHF. But what exactly do you have? Some are modified. The best, cheapest way to do HF with a basic dongle is with a HF converter. ( Upconverter) This will be one of the cheapest, there are better ones available. https://www.amazon.com/NooElec-Ham-Up-v1-3-Upconverter/dp/B009LQT3G6/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1446689941&sr=1-1&keywords=ham+it+up+upconverter&linkCode=sl1&tag=rsv0f-20&linkId=a7c84e914b0bbeeb3f2ee83fa6e5cd73 Alan |

or if you want 8Mhz of BW and 10Khz to 1.7Ghz for half the price go for SDRPlay 1a :)

Re: NEWBIE-v2.0.3 build 1263
the 820t2 only goes down as far as 24 MHz. Shortwave is about 3 MHz to 30 MHz. Try a Airspy HF+.
