Check that you have activated write cache on your disk. This should always be done when recording huge files like I/Q files.

Hi,

This *is* a bug in the console, I’ve detected very old firmware but am not processing visual gain correctly.

Newest firmware is always good.

Sorry Calder, i didn't see your message on time!

I just found the download page for Airspy Hf + firmware. I will update and try again with the Visual Gain on SDRConsole V3.03.

Hi, Petr,

It's possible. I downloaded the RTL SDR software for AirSPY HF + on October 16 for the first time, and since then I haven't checked for firmware updates... as I don't know how to do it, or how to check which version I have (?)

When I open the SDR-RTL program I get SDR# v. 1.0.0.1672, and when I check on "Radio" I can see Firmware R1.00.00

Would you please help me with this? If it is off topic, please, drop me a mail at my allsign at gmail dot com

Thank you very much!

IQ File Error - "To much queued data" #airspy

Ivan Abilev

Hello dear friends! I am a beginner here. I faced a problem in attempt of the record IQ of the file.
My equipment - Airspy Mini 6.0 MHz.
Got an external hard drive of the ADATA HD330 4TB brand. Connection through USB 3.0 slot writing rate 100mb/S reading speed 150mb/S.
The program persistently does not want to write the IQ file directly on a disk. After several minutes of record the error "To much queued data, removed 500 packets, 15000000 samples, 115 megabytes" Error jumps out can leave at once at record and can write 10-30 minutes and jump out then. Writing rate within the first minute is lower than necessary. The start from 21.5 MB \with and slowly rises to 23.7-23.9mb and then to necessary 24.0mb. At record of a band 3 MHz are observed the same problem. Record within the first minute 10.2-11.8mb/with and in the second third minute reaches necessary 12mb/with

This error is not observed on the built-in disk C with the operating system, there record goes without problems.
My Windows 10 system, 64bit. ASUS x541nc, NVIDIA GeForce 810m, 4GB. There are enough resources of the laptop for start and comfortable work with Airspy and a band 6 MHz. Did the following actions which did not help me.
1) Defragmentation of a disk
2) Deep formatting of a disk
3) Capacity of the USB bus is enough work for Airspy + HDD and two flash cards.
2) Reinstallation of a system
3) Change of USB with 3.0 on 2.0
4) Put the old version of the program.
Please, prompt in what a problem? What else can be made? I put to the subject Log file.

P.S Forgive to for errors, I write not in a mother tongue

Just in case, as the kid of the signal I took for the captures before graphically changes a lot by its own nature, here I'm attaching two more:

Visual gain = - 40 dB:

Visual gain = 30 dB:

Re: Frustrating

I did the above and V3 still would lock up with the RSP 2.

I then under Tools selected the Registry button and just deleted the entry in the registry for SDRplay.

Restarted V3 and everything is now working fine.

As always use caution while in the registry.

Be interested in hearing if this works for anyone else.

Hiya Mike,

I have the Airspy HF+ along with the SDRplay RSP2 & RSPduo.  All are good HF receivers in my experience which is 99 44/100 of my listening. But the receiver I'm having the most fun with at the moment is my KiwiSDR.  Just wish conditions were better.  :(

The Kiwi allows me to hear signals in LW that the others can't sort out of the noise. Another excellent piece of kit.

Also, in my testing here, the AirSpy HF+ has been VERY vulnerable to desense/intermod from my 70cm Tx on 2m satellite downlinks.

I have a filter in front of the SDR to keep 70cm out of 2m...well, the Airspy HF+ still doesn't like it. Every time I key on 70cm, the 2m rx gets trashed...spikes, you name it.

Using the exact same cables, antenna, etc, but changing to EITHER:

SDRPlay RSP2 or FunCube Pro + SDR eliminates the problem. There is not a hint of desense or intermod/overload on either of them when listening on 2m and tx'ing on 70cm.

So, while the AirSpy HF+ is wonderful on HF (I have used it a LOT), it doesn't cut it for full duplex satellite work....at least not here.

Hi Tracey,

I took all that into account, and it's still cheaper than buying from Moonraker.  I've also been hit for customs charges by Royal Mail in the past on stuff coming via ordinary mail, so it's just pot luck whether you get stung or not.  I just decided to go for speed and certainty, which you get from DHL - but then ITEAD took two and half weeks to send it!  In ordinary post it could be another 2-4 weeks before it arrives, then there's Xmas delays to consider ...

Regards,
Dave.

Using the postal method has incurred none of those charges for any of the Airspy products that I have ordered from Itead.
Thus resulting in an HF+ for around £150 into the UK.

Gareth,

Only the test team have access to the TX features. Some background information is available on https://www.dit-dit-dit.com/.

At the moment I’m having problems with the Lime API support, more time is needed before I can perfect the transmit support for amateur use.

Hi,

I'm working with Lime Microsystems to highlight interesting projects in the community, and I saw that SDR Console's next release is going to include transmit support for the LimeSDR radio family - which is great news! I'd love to write up a case study for the Lime Microsystems Community site.

Simon:
Would it be possible to send across a list of questions for the piece, covering things like your background, the development of SDR Console, and the like?

SDR Console/LimeSDR users:
Are any of you playing with the beta release at the moment using LimeSDR hardware? I'd love to include your thoughts in the piece!

You can get in touch with me via the group or on freelance@....

Cheers,

-Gareth
