Re: Pluto TX 'Bursting'
Great! Let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Re: Pluto TX 'Bursting'
OK.
This *is* a driver issue, I’ll take it up with AD. Your feedback & logs have been very helpful.

Simon, If I change the TX buffer, I still get bursts, but it changes the length between bursts (dropouts). Longer buffer, longer time before the next dropout. Shorter buffer, dropouts more frequent. Mike On 3/22/2019 8:19 AM, Simon Brown wrote:

Re: Pluto TX 'Bursting'
Mike,
If you increase the buffer size to the maximum do you still get a burst, if so does it correspond to the buffer length?
Sadly no errors in the logfile.

Thanks. Really looks like the API is not returning any errors, this has to be their driver. Simon Brown, G4ELI www.sdr-radio.com -----Original Message-----

Re: Pluto TX 'Bursting'
Hi,
With USB2 - you are running in full duplex. Can you try this in half duplex please?
I’m only seeing some receive errors, I want to isolate this. So let’s try half duplex, let me know if bursting still happens.

Simon,
2 logs attached. They are both at 1.5 MHz on the same machine. The USB3 port log has glitches in the transmit stream, but no actual bursts (on/off). The USB 2 log has the bursts.
Hope this helps...
Mike

Were you getting the bursting effect on all of the logfiles you attached?

Hi,
How are you detecting the bursting effect – with a separate receiver?

Re: Pluto TX 'Bursting'
Simon,
Would you like a debug with Mcafee uninstalled and windows defender FW on ? It will take a while to get rid of mcafee. Regards Adrian |

Re: Pluto TX 'Bursting'
Simon,
This is working with mcafee fw off as well. |

Simon, with 3.06 and my PlutoSDR I was getting the bursting at the lowest bandwidths. Changing the buffer just resulted in different lengths of bursts. This was on an old AMD laptop and brand new HP I7 8550. However it seems to be fixed by turning off the Windows Firewall ! |

The bit I don’t understand is that it all works fine on a Windows 10 VM under Parallels on a 6 year old Mac Mini with firewall on! i’ll do Debug later on both machines with and w/o firewall. Thanks for the excellent software. Adrian |

WRONG WRONG WRONG he had distorted audio cause he used fm bw 12 kc or so (wfm is not bfm!!) with switching to bfm the distortion is gone (I AM SURE ON THIS!!!) i looked his screenshot (and zoomed it up to see what mode and bandwidth he selected) .... and it was not bfm 150 to 250kc (what you would need for local fm commercials on 88-108 megs) he selected wfm ... and that is not wide enough no wonder he had distorted audio ... it is NOT overdriving the chip so attenuation with hardware does not work!!! dg9bfc sigi

Try attenuating the input to the dongle with hardware. |
