Actually,

This issue and VSPE reminds me of something from my Ham Radio Deluxe day. I’ll have to try with VSPE, maybe it’s not honouring all the serial port controls.

Albert (PA5OXW)

Well now this evening / tonight 22.00 UTC I bumped into a Fox1A pass at 40 degrees which was dead silent so only once (a very clear) "Veronica" kicked in there was DUV signal...Flabbergasted I noted that the "eye" was perfect and during two identifiers I could decode 4 packets ( confirmed on Amsat Server)........

I wonder why after months of inability to decode these signals all of a sudden the old status (correct decoding as since the start of the Telem software) seems to be back (without any change in de SDR Console software using WFM 15 Khz ). Can it be the "the regular" HAM voice activity degrades the DUV download ?   Of course will try to check on all 3 85/91/92 tomorrow and revert. (plse note I use WIMO 2/70 X-CUADS antenna's  steered by  G-5500)

Simon,

I believe your kit works only with Protocol 2?

Will it support the AMAM-100D running Protocol 2?

I've been waiting for your release before changing protocols.

I’ll be in contact tomorrow. I think it’s the sequence of commands sent by HRD but I must finish some other coding first.

A bit more.

ANAN-100/SDR-Console Rig control via Omni-Rig is operating correctly.  Specific to HRD.  Could there be an issue with more advanced TS-2000 parameters in HRD causing an issue?  I actually have had a TS-2000 controlled by HRD in the past.  I may have added some additional CAT commands.  I'll look into it.

Simon,

After totally resetting SDR-CONSOLE to a default settings and identities, I get a minor variation.

Change the frequency on SDR-Console it moves quickly and smoothly.  It takes the several seconds or sometimes more to transfer to HRD.  Send a frequency change from HRD and it's interface is slowed and the transfer to SDR-CONSOLE is equally delayed.

Thank you,

Ed

Re: CAT Controller very sluggish in response.

Thanks Jim, I'll look into it.

Simon,

I'm not trying to run Thetis at the same time.  I'm using Thetis to display that VSPE and all settings external to SDR-Console are correct and functioning.

Both HRD and SDR-Console take at least one maybe two seconds or longer to respond to any change of frequency.  Sometimes longer if you really overwhelm it using an HRD frequency slider.  Both HRD and SDR Console exhibit this condition once the connection is established.  Making changes from either SDR-Console or HRD causes the same effect.

Swap out SDR-Console for Thetis, no other changes.  Same instance of VSPE and HDR and it works smoothly.  That's the reference to Thetis.

I'll look into Jim's suggestion.  I'll report back.

Thank you,

Ed

Simon --

I am already part of the test team, but would also like to be involved specifically with testing ANAN updates.  I have an ANAN 8000 DLE.

What Protocol2 firmware revision do you suggest using with the new kit?  I'm currently using Protocol1 as I ran into issues using TX under Thetis (relays click but no output power).  ANAN support suggested that I downgrade to the latest P1 firmware, which is obviously incompatible with SDR Console.

Thanks!

Will the latest kit have transverter options too? I know getting ahead of myself but many of use use the 10e as a tvtr driver for the higher bands.

Re: Distorted audio after changing frequencies

Hi,

If the normal speakers are OK and not the Jabra then I don’t think there’s anything I can do for now. Wait for 3.0.4 with new audio logic, we’ll take it from there.

Sorry, I didn't have any earbuds or headphones at the office.

I grabbed some from home and the distortion is gone with them.

So, this confirms that it's the Jabra and the way it interacts with the SDRC favorites.

Let me know if you want me to do anything else to troubleshoot with the Jabra or if you prefer that I live with it on that headset.  Since I have narrowed it down at least I can work around it.

Thanks,

Correct.

I asked Youssef, this is an SDR# feature which is not available via the API, to quote Youssef “it’s just a SDR# hack”.

Automating switching works incorrectly.  At  249 MHz I have attenuation of the noise shelf of about 8 dB with the tracking filter is switched on when i use SDRSharp.   I can't turn off the filter In console v3.

Re: CAT Controller very sluggish in response.

Ed – I noticed the same thing when I turned on the I/O monitor. With the monitor off everything runs fine after a restart of SDR-Console.
I have my own CAT code that controls the SDR-Console application from my SETI system.

Re: CAT Controller very sluggish in response.

Ed,

What I want to know is the software which runs slow, you said a CAT Controller but I don’t know what you mean.

  • What is the CAT Controller which runs slow?
  • If you run HRD + SDR Console using a VSPE virtual COM connection which program runs slow.

(I am not interested in Thetis. If you are attempting to run Thetis, HRD & SDR Console at the same time then I can’t help, I have no idea what may be happening.)

Please answer the two questions above, that’s all I need to know for now.
