This is the airport a bit South of me. Ironically, my step-father's house was also North of Ontario. Both identified with the letters C and A. One is California the other is Canada. Aren't you excited to learn that?

Click on the 10 day and see our depressing reality. Where I am is a few hundred feet farther from the core of the Earth and 2F to 5F cooler. 100F is not at all bad if the humidity is low teens or lower. At higher humidity you can't evaporate the sweat as fast as you generate it. Either way drink enough water that you wee normally.

I wonder if any of this is related to the volcano in Tonga that delivered a mega-payload of water into the upper atmosphere. Normally North and South don't mix much. But this was a huge dose of high greenhouse material in "just the right place."

Based on growing up with a view over Lake St. Claire to Canada to the South of me from an altitude of maybe 40' to 50' above the lake you are possibly just past where the sea breezes really help moderate temperatures. The micro climate changed at about that distance from the shore of the lake. It was nice on or near the lake. It could get miserable inland just a bit. (The house was a scary short distance from where the Brits dropped one of their military jets on the US to the house's East. I saw the aftermath. We were away from home at the time. The pilot just missed dropping it in the river. And, yes, I did mean Canada being to the South and being in the US.)

Yeah, 82 is a little high inside. Electricity being costly we tend to leave large portions of the house warmish such as 30.5 in the kitchen. That's with the benefit of some air conditioner usage. Bleah - I need to talk Loren into keeping it cooler in here. Electricity is cheap for us with the huge solar array.

Thinking of which - new APC UPS here. The old Matrix 5000s are gone. And 99% if the RF noise around here seems to be gone. All I have are some low level spurs every 60 kHz. I can live with that. I'm going to have to fix HF antenna and build out the HL2 I have and mostly have not used.

  2. Where's the latest API code for the RX888?

It is in my project queue. I can feed Simon with information about distinguishing one from another and controlling stuff RX666 does not have. One of the items in the project queue here has fallen into the recently done pile. So there is hope. Maybe I can get back to what I'd been doing in a week or so.

Ah - being sure you have the latest code is, I have been discovering, is awkward. Oscar's code is the code I've been working with.

Do you want the address for the SDDC EXTIO driver to drag stuff out of?

Re: SDR Console and RX-888 MKII #sdr-consolev3

I'm fighting something else so getting in to dig out the data will take me awhile.

There is a way to dive in and pull out the serial number. On my machine it is not reliable. But the EXTIO code uses another hook to determine type. As soon as I get eyes on that code again I'll try to deal with it and get you data.

Let's see if I read the questions correctly.

1. difference as in RX666, RX888, and RX888 MKII?

2. Um, API code? It seems the only way in at the moment is the EXTIO route. Anything else gets to use the Cypress USB API plus guesswork for addresses to use. The easy approach would be to build code to use EXTIO and never use it's GUI, do that part yourself feeding the values into the EXTIO with your own GUI.

Sven, did you take the steps I recommended to remove all SDR Play software and re-install it? I had a similar issue last year and this cleaned up things on my PC.

1. Disconnect all SDR play receivers from PC.
2. Un-install ALL SDR Play software, applications, drivers, API, etc.
3. Delete SDR Play definitions in Console
4. Reboot the computer
5. Re-install the SDR Play software.
     a. Make sure you do not plug in the receiver until directed to do so by the SDR Play software installation.
6. Check operation in SDR Uno
7. Add a new definition in Console and test
