Re: Satellite Maps and Doppler Frequency Changes
Hello Simon,
Thank you for your reply. I apologize for the lousy screen capture. I forgot to use the camera button and then the satellite was gone. Also another window was over the lower right. So just a totally screwed up picture. When NOAA 18 was being tracked, I never saw the radio frequency change in the lower left. So where is the Doppler frequency displayed? I also had WXtoIMG running during the pass. Should I be recording the audio from the satellite using SDRC? If so, what settings should I use for recording? Can the SDRC recording be used with WXtoIMG for performing the image enhancements? I have looked for a tutorial on youtube and just haven't found the one that must be out there somewhere. Thanks, George

Re: Frequency Database Station Order
Ken Sejkora
Thank you, Jim. I know when you import data from fmscan.org, the SDRC database prefers ERP, but I don’t see how it gets used in the SDRC database. The ‘Power’ column appears to reflect the station power in kilowatts rather than ERP.
I investigated the structure of the MWLIST and FMLIST csv files, and it appears the secondary sorting after frequency is based on the value in the 14th field (Column N). Stronger stations have a higher value. Perhaps one could re-sort the SDRC Frequency Database in a similar manner, but again, it doesn’t seem that the corresponding signal strength data are imported into the Frequency Database from the fmscan.org files.
Perhaps I’ll try to experiment with a Custom.CSV file to see if I can accomplish what I want.

It has come up before... I remember asking if the list could be ordered by frequency then distance for VHF FM work - but I think I remember Simon saying it would take a lot of work to implement. Can't remember for sure but it was quite a while ago. ================================ On 21/08/2022 19:13, Ken Sejkora wrote:

spectrum scope window I didn't get the Server Busy error. I didn't received the error using HRD or WFVIEW as rig control. Also I didn't get the error no matter how the different software's were connected, either via the rig control programs, or via a virtual
port splitter, or omnirig. Apparently SDR Console had some sort of a conflict with the win4icom spectrun scope, but as far as I'm concerned, problem solved! Going to take a nap and catch up on my lost sleep.

I very much Like your Satellite portion of Console. I am just learning it now. Two questions: 1. Does the Doppler change in frequency show up on the frequency readout screen? Presently I do not see that happening. Maybe a setting I have missed. 2. A program called DX Atlas has a map variant in which a globe can be displayed in lieu of a flat map. Have you given any thought of having that capability available in the Satellite module? I just really like that view. The mouse rotates the globe to any position desired. -- - + - + -

You cannot open (most) serial ports twice. This is not a bug. It is basic to Windows. That is your basic error. {^_^} On 20220820 11:01:45, Alan, W5CIB

Re: Russian Meteor Satellites
Nicholas Shaxted
George, I am not quite sure what you are asking. A cursory look at the images you attached suggests that you have not set up the frequency/mode/bandwidth usiing the Organise feature. Apologies if you have already done this but, in the Ribbon bar select Current for the selected satellite and in the drop down select Organise. This should then post a new small window so that you can edit the receive parameters. This is shown in the attachment.
If you have already done this and it does not change frequency/mode etc you are very likely to have made an error in an entry
Let us know how you get on.

Hi,
With the setup as you have it now we don't have any COM port being shared so shouldn't get Server Busy errors. Server Busy comes from the OmniRig software and I really do not have the enthusiasm to dig through the OmniRig code to find out what's wrong.

All done, sdr console connected to the radio, log4om connect to sdr console. No errors. But I've had these software's up and down a dozen times, or more, in the last 24 hours and haven't had any error messages. Intermittent problem, OR somehow in the course of uninstalling and reinstalling software the problem was fixed. Bad DLL, corrupted file, funky sector on the HD, who knows.... I'll leave it setup like this until I hear from you. -- - + - + -
