Oh Cool!
I have the networking part down.
I just dove into the server side of Simon's gem.
Some things I put into the conversation, take with a grain of salt.
As I get into it more, I'll understand it

Finally it's running! Brilliant!
On the remote client where the IP address is, there's a drop down to select the PC name, select that and connect and it works. Brilliant. I'm on a learning curve

Guess I'll have to get the server setup and try it here.
Verify please that your computer IP is set static and that the info under static reads something like:
the 5 in ipv4,gateway,server, etc

Well I'm "On Air"...but a remote connection attempt fail's with a message on the client remote saying connection failed, server not listening.
I'm stumped again as the server is on air and my account

JIM - in regards to the Favorites area, I now see how to delete and edit, but how does one add a new Group? I hate to keep asking these what may be super simple questions, but it seems if one can't

First thing. Determine your current computer IP address. Not public IP.
Familiar with this? What operating system?
You can write the info down, and in your network card settings instead of dynamic IP,

Thanks for all the replies.
My router/modem is a HG523a. I can access it OK as Admin user, but may need guidance on settings.
I understand to try port forwarding and am OK to change my PC to IP

Re: Port Errors
Definitely go here first:
https://portforward.com/
Pretty simple. Set your PC to a static IP address.
Then get into the router software, log into it.

Thank you for helping me out. I'll have to give more detail when I'm at home from work later today, but I can let you know that I have my standard desktop PC with Norton AV on and running Windows 7.
