I use a version of that card made by Gigabyte. It’s a few years old now so maybe there’s a better /newer option. The price was a shock today!

Thanks, that's helpful!
I liked that Simon reads and displays the existing values first.

One can do the same with rtl_eeprom.exe

Hi David.
Could you please show us the way to do this.
Screenshots, maybe.
Any special precautions one have to obey to do it in a safe way?

RTL serial number programming facility.
It had escaped my notice that the SDR Console has the ability to set the serial
number for RTL dongles. Just tried it, and it works nicely.
Many thanks for that, Simon!

Yes, Ken, my bad.
I deal with three pieces of ham remote software, SDRC Server, Icom's RS-BA1v2, and Remoteham's RCForb.
RCForb labels the tuning steps in kHz and I have to make it .500kHz every time

Hi Kriss,
I assume you mean 500 Hz step. Setting it to 500 kHz would allow for some very quick tuning with the mouse wheel! ;>) I’ve also set my default SSB tuning step to 500 Hz, or 0.5 kHz

Personally, I set the SSB tuning steps to 500kHz. Most SSB QSO's are on whole digit kHz frequencies. i.e. 3928 kHz, 7255 kHz, 14300 kHz etc.
On17M there's lots of activity on 18157.5 kHz so hence my
