The manufacturer doesn’t specify the type of ferrite they use so the leads might be quite useless at rejecting any emi/rfi problems you might have. By all means try them out but my advice would be

Does SDR-Console support any keyboard shortcuts, like + or - or such, to allow for tuning? I ask because I use the Griffin PowerMate for many radio programs as a tuning knob and also to change modes

Mine is an EKS XP-5 ... (a bit older ... can sometimes be found used for a few bucks in evilbay)
Half of the buttons got an autorepeat ... if you want to tune in 1 kc

Try selecting the zero and typing a 5. That might be amusing.
It may be that the software presumes a port number and does not show it and gets it wrong. I'd take the behavior

If it’s on a Pi then it’ll be running the SDR# SpyServer I assume, so follow the SpyServer installation, then in Console:

Software wouldn’t allow me to enter any number in the port box. It defaults to 0, so when I placed the cursor there and backspaced so I could enter 50101, I got the error as posted above.

Not a bug. The port must be known before you can login. That is basic TCP.

Signifies nothing. Firewalls will usually ignore and drop traceroute and ping packets.
