I have now added and extra check to data recording, as of the next kit only NTFS devices are allowed. More info: http://www.sdr-radio.com/Console/RecPlayback, scroll down…

Rik,
I haven’t had time to look at your problem, but I expect it’s a remote radio bandwidth issue.

I had issues with my Surface (other post) and tried with another PC: it doesn't work either.
Could you please confirm that Skimmer is OK when feeding the I/Q from a remote SDR ?

Hi,
It’ll get interesting to see whether NTFS helps, this can also be an effect of the card / USB device. As for file size – it’s 2GB (max) when using the Windows API correctly to create WAV

Sounds like a plan. I will format a card for that.
Thank you for checking into the issue.
On a related note. Will it be possible to record longer single files with nfts?

Hi,
I’ve now been through the code, it’s all down to USB Stick / SD Card and FAT32. You must write to a NTFS or other drive which really supports the required sustained access, then copy to

Re: seeing a problem with data recording
OK,
Anything in the logfile? How much free space was there on the device after the first file was written?
Main thing – I need to see the logfile if possible.

Re: seeing a problem with data recording
The first file ( the first 2gb) was written to the SD card just fine each time. But no second file is started, as happens on local hd, to continue recording.

Ah,
Good point – maybe repeat the test but use a maximum file size of 1,000 MB?

Re: seeing a problem with data recording
What was the radio’s sample rate?
If saving as 16-bit samples then you’ll have to write at 4 x the sample rate (in bytes), if 32-bit then 8x, for example if you start the radio at 1 MHz

Re: seeing a problem with data recording
btw, there was plenty of space when the error started., this SS is just from the last attempt. so there are now several 2gb files on the card.
