SDR Console v3.1 build 2320

I am not using the beta, that is probably the problem.

I'll install the beta and try it then.

Thanks!

What Version of 3.xx are you running?
Click on "View" in the ribbon bar and under "Spectrum" you should see "Band Plan".
I believe this was added over a year ago? Current version (Public Beta Version) is
3.1 dated March 18th, 2022, Build 2547:

Scroll down just beyond Simon's World Map download (another awesome piece of software BTW) and the Beta
version download is on the left.

Hi -

Yes, I tried to follow the instructions on that page, but my Band Plan button is missing, not where it is supposed to be.

Thanks - John

Hi Everett-

Assuming fairly up-to-date Windows 10 (or 11) on your PC, you can specify the sound output for individual apps from within Windows:

It would probably be necessary to have SDRC running and producing audio before attempting setup per the above link.

Hi all -

I have a newbie question.

I am running SDR Console v3.1 build 2320, and I cannot locate the Band Plan button to configure the band plan display,

I go to Ribbon, View, Spectrum, and there is NO Band Plan button available to select.

Is there anything that has to be in place (like the xml file in a specific folder) to activate this button so it appears in the menu?

I would appreciate anyone's help on this.

Many thanks,

John - W3JED

Save a copy of the file before you edit it.

If you are changing bands by recalling stored a Favourite (I think that's how most of us do it?), the audio selection is stored with the Favourite, so (easy option) recall the Band Favourite, change audio selection the re-save with the amended audio selection.

If you want to change every Favourite to the new Audio then this can be done by editing the Favourites by exporting the Favourites to an xml file and editing it in a text editor. See my post here:

First approximation - your Windows default setting is borked.
Second approximation - SDRC does not do bands. It does favorites. Resave your favorites with the desired audio setup.

Re: GPU card

Hi,

I think the card could be running in a dumb mode without the NVIDIA driver installed. When this happens all the DirectX work takes place on the CPU and performance can be quite poor.

The Task Manager showed a very low GPU usage, far lower than I would expect for the GTX 645 running ‘normally’.

Is the logging software trying to talk to SDRC or is it running independently on the side?

I'd like to record a video snippet showing the lag in HRD Logbook when creating a new QSO while Console is running. What's the best way to record an post a video here? Obviously I need a place to host videos. Or perhaps an animated GIF? I don't to hijack this group's storage.

Hi,

I am quite sure the problem is your video card, what drivers are installed? I really don’t want a video, I’ll not watch it.

Using Google I find: https://www.nv-drivers.eu/download-driver-for-GeForceGTX645-and-Windows10-64bit-with-id-199.html

Yes Console was running.

Also I just installed the latest drivers for GetForce GTX 645. No difference with my other software.

Okay I just tried to install the latest from the link, GeForce_Experience_v3.25.0.84.exe, and got this message:

So I'm looking at legacy drivers. But I already have an NVIDIA Control Panel:

Re: GPU card

The task manager output suggests everything should be working. A diagram or verbal diagram of your setup would also help. Include any audio devices and external decoders that may be running at the same time.

"...SDR-C's effect on other logging applications."

That needs defining - what is the effect and how are the logging applications connected? And to which logging applications are you referring?

Anyway, the GTX 645 is quite respectable when it comes to DirectX but any newer card will be better and use less power. And a newer card (if you can get one) can later be used in a new PC.

That good to hear. I'm really not in a mood to upgrade my graphics card and not solve my main issue, that is the sluggishness of my two logging apps while running SDR-C. However, if a new card will speed up refreshing on the spectrum display, I'm very interested! I just don't want to spend top dollar with no perceivable results.
