Hello Ray,
I you have some spare time pse let me know what firmware you use for your USRP X310 to communicate with SDR console. Pse mention also the UHD release, Do you install Winx64_VS2019 or an other version? I tried many combinations, but got no combination to work. 73, Charly DF5VAE@... PS: I use a low cost Fujitsu M720 server PC, with Xeon 2690 CPU, and Intel x520-2 Fiber adapter. With this hardware I was able to obtain 40 MHz bandwith with an USRP N200 and Intel Pro 1000 Network card. A high standard PC mainboard with I7 CPU limits bandwith between 10 to 20 MHz. The Xeon CPU on the M720 mainboard offers up to 40 PCx Lanes, no shared resources limiting the transfer bandwith.

Re: Bricked my Ettus X310
Hello Eric,
did you ever get a reply or a working image for your usrp X310 I had no problem to get an USRP N200 working with SDR-Console, but my USRP x310 was never recognised in SDR console. Tried many images (XG, HG) including older versions but no success at all. I flash via Windows command line, using the ETTUS commands. As I have no software skills I needed quite some time and tests to learn how to flash. 73 Charly, DF5VAE@...

Re: Andrus SDR
Hi Daniel I bought an Andrus a few years back, said to be from a house clearance, and replaced the short circuit network chip and much to my surprise it then worked perfectly. I think I paid about £60. I find it really good at lower frequencies down to a few KHz and OK up to 30MHz. It only covers a 400KHz bandwidth which is fine for ham bands but its chief advantage is it can be used at the end of an RJ45 cable well away from interference. USB power or about 6V at 350mA. I guess you could power it from a PoE adaptor but I haven’t tried that yet nor remote access via the Net but no reason why not. Very good build quality and would have cost almost £500 new. They are pretty rare so I guess that £90 plus postage makes it a good buy. SDR console works fine with it although not all bells and whistles seem to be covered probably because there are too few users to warrant the work. 73 Allan G3PIY From:

Could you tell me if this can work in same manner as kiwi sdr and provide web based users? I have a chance of a 1.5 for £100 which I don't know if it's a bargain or a lost cause for my application as the information I could find seemed clear as mud so far.Apologies for my ignorance Thanks

The conversion frequency setting in the device
definition is the number you must fine tune. It's possible even if
it's a bit awkward.

Missed spots PSKREPORTER
Ian McCabe
Hi all Can anyone help me with a minor problem here. I know there are a lot of smart guys on here, probably not the right place to ask on this subject but failed elsewhere I listen FT8 160m most nights and run JTDX with PSKREPORTER and Gridtracker god bless its sole I monitor mainly DX spots and notice despite perfect CQ,s with the locator quite a few stations never make the PSKREPORTER map A couple of friends using the same set up and settings do not have this problem. EG It took over an hour and at least 13/14 CQ,s for XV1X to appear. I just use the basic settings in JTDX, any advice will be appreciated and apologies for being off topic I have heard this maybe server related but whose server I do not know, I have tried changing ports without success Appreciate any advice Regards Ian G0FYD Airspy HF plus discovery Wellbrook 80ft rotatable loop Software JTDX

Re: Pluto:: Spurious Emissions

The basic problem with the transmit side and really
the receive side as well is the math involved requires small
fractions of a degree and small fractions of a dB precision in
setting the nulling conditions. You can setup 50 dB to 60 dB with
modest effort. But the components involved are slightly
temperature sensitive. So your 50 dB balance can decay to 40 dB or
30 dB fairly quickly. This was expected and shown in the Built In
Test Equipment in the prelaunch test equipment for the first set of GPS Phase 2B satellites. The signal is a
pair of PN sequence modulated signals sent at exact quadrature on
the carrier frequencies. The test equipment was required to be
within something like a quarter of a degree of each other and the
amplitudes had to be a fraction of a dB of correct. While aligning
the BITE transmitter I noticed I could fall out of specification
by simply moving one of the 3" or so long double shielded 1/4 inch
cables connected to the quadrature modulators. It required pretty
much lab conditions to keep full accuracy. The 1/4 degree is
significantly worse than the 50 dB conditions as I recall the
math.

On top of that you have received signals to consider. The isolation between TX and RX on Lime or Pluto is not very exciting. It is at a level that the settings for TX can mess with RX and vice versa. At least in the satellite case you folks get to play with the TX and RX local oscillators are frequencies that are not directly harmonically related. So the cross effects will be minimum except for the temperature increase when transmitting. {^_^}

Hello all,

Thank you Sigi for the help, The spurious I reported before was due to the fact that I used the XIT (Receive side) to align my RX and TX frequency . I understand now that it as to be done with RIT, please confirm. The spurious I see now are about -56 dBc up to a Drive level of 50% on the TX control which correspond to about - 16dBm CW carrier (Tune mode) . Reducing the Drive level down tp 10% does not help much, about -58 dBc. At 70% Drive level I measure -55dBc in Tune mode (CW) . On Tune mode (CW) the spurious are slightly lower if Bandwith is set at 1.2 MHz (select radio) rather than set at 750 KHz. I do not know if the spurious can be lowered further , for QO-100 operation it is very acceptable but for terestrial I doubt . 73 jacques F6BKI

Re: Settings for USCG Weather on RTTY?
Ken Sejkora
Hi Kriss,
Are you sure that is US Coast Guard Weather RTTY on 4006 kHz USB, the frequency shown in the attached JPG? I’m not aware of USCG using that frequency or frequency shift for WX transmissions. I believe that frequency is commonly used by the US Navy for encrypted transmissions using STANAG-4481 FSK. The 850 Hz shift is commonly used by NATO military groups when using STANAG-4481 FSK..
The USCG SITOR/RTTY frequencies on the US East Coast are 6314.0, 8416.5, 12579.0, and 16806.5 kHz. Here’s a link to a reference for USCG weather-related broadcasts: https://www.weather.gov/marine/uscg_broadcasts
As an aside, I haven’t used the digital decoder in SDRC very much, but instead pipe audio to either fldigi or MultiPSK because of better decoding. If decoding NAVTEX on 490 or 518 kHz, those programs will work as well, but YanD is another very useful NAVTEX decoder. If decoding USCG WEFAX (Weather FAX) transmissions, my go-to decoder is fldigi, but MultiPSK will do the job as well. WEFAX frequencies on the East Coast of the USA are 4235.0, 6340.5, 9110.0, and 12750.0 kHz
Good luck and 73

Sorry for poor explanation, but qro amps, antennas etc are my thing..still much to learn about sdr’s.. I do use antenna out to drive the duo, maybe i should use if out( with suitable if offset settings on sdrc) Ps the Cornwall 160-40m special amp is coming along nicely.. Re s meter on sdrc vs 3000.. s1 on 3000= s3.5 on sdrc…s5 on 3000 =s4 on sdrc, would be nice to be able to adjust s meter or linearity on spectrum to match. The 3.1 release version you have is the stable 3.1 software. It does not get updated, it is locked. All new features are added to the beta versions. This will end up being the next stable version (3.2). I am running the latest beta and have enabled the band plan feature. I have edited it to show the US amateur band with sub-bands. It is a helpful feature. -- Dennis KA6FUB

Beta features not in the current release ??
#sdrconsole
I came across a you tube video that demo's the SRD Console V3 Beta ... In it has some features I would really like to have..
I have the latest version on SDR Console I have loaded is Version 3.1 build 2320 Compiled Aug 2 2021. I thought this would contain all the features I say in the video but if does NOT ??! I can not find how to do this. Perhaps someone could direct me where I can get this beta version. I especially like to see the the Band plan ... Being a ham that has been out operation for awhile this is a very nice feature to highlight sections of the band .. and it can be modified if need for other info ... Like a bar at the bottom of the spectrum it could reflect the CW portion of the band or you might add a digital mode like PSK or RTTY .. In the Beta version it was very nicely done ... I am constantly having to configure UNO and sometime I think I spend more timing doing this ...then actually listening. [Simon I have followed this program forever .. and I think it is the best !] Wish there are more You Tube videos ... with tips for all the different configurable optiond ... I tried to get adjusted to UNO... but I have an ANAN 100 that I would love to get this program working with it... Thanks to you .. my retirement is going be better !
