Re: RSPdx will not start in SDRC 3.1 Build 2365 #sdruno

Hi,

I noticed that 3.08 was not set to automatic startup. You’ll have to bring this up with the SDRplay folks, it’s their API.

Subject: [SDR-Radio] RSPdx will not start in SDRC 3.1 Build 2365 #sdruno

I've just upgraded two PC's with SDRuno version 1.41 and now SDRC doesn't want to start my RSPDx unless I first start SDRuno. It appears that the problem is that the old API v3.07 loads at the startup of W10, whereas the latest API v3.08 doesn't. It can also be started in Services instead of running SDRuno first.
On one PC I have re-installed SDRuno 1.40 and then have no problems as the API is v3.07. Cannot work out why the new API v3.08 doesn't start even though it is set to Automatic in services ? Any ideas ?

Regards

John

I am sorry Joanne, but I can not find the setting you are referring to under "Tools", "Options".
Can you please post a screenshot to ease the finding of this particular setting enabling one singe receiver in the Rx-matrix to keep it's displayed frequency range even if I change the Rx-frequency within the displayed frequency range.

Hello,

Had the same "problem". Take about the subfolders. They must be there !

Tested also with RSP2 @10MHz bandwidth?

I don't know what to think, but it's not caused by the PC or USB power supply which is still similar to your PC and with sdruno 4.1 it works perfectly.
The same problem is confirmed by other users.

Maybe for the new SDRplay API 3.08?

Luckily I don't use @ 10MHz bw ... ;-)

open receiver pane ... can be set to any position

there you see the signal centered (it is similar to if window but can be docked anywhere and set to fulle screen width)

and as an example i docked it to top of screen and showing min and max zoom ratio

Open the DSP Panel (where you have the frequency display, filters, modes, etc) and open the IF Display. Then put mouse cursor inside the small waterfall and use the scroll knob on mouse. Active frequency will stay incenter, although you are limited in width of view.

Joe,

If you are not in the test team then you must join, I’ve just published a kit for you.

I hear tell that some laptops do not supply full power to USB ports as a  means of increasing battery life. It's a BIOS setting. A fully powered hub should be able to turn the trick, too, I believe.

Suspect this may be a matter of not enough power in some PCs, I am using an Intel i7 11700K @ 3.600GHz and runs both versions without problem.

There isn't, in the main display.

Best to use the Receiver Pane, which does keep the tuned frequency in the middle.

Just FWIW working fine @ 10MHz with the RSPdx here.

Yes, I confirm,

it starts normally but if I have 10MHz no audio is heard and I do not have the WF scrolling, the "SDR" does not start.

If I change to any other, below 8MHz, the audio restarts and the WF scrolling restarts. If I go back to 10MHz, everything is still ...

The sdrconsole functions, menu ... remain enabled but nothing is heard and WF is stopped.
I can change from 0.5 to 8MHz without problem, but at 10 it stops and I go back and it always works from 0.5 to 8MHz

Note: If I use the old V2 sdrplay driver, 10MHz works without problem.

Odd,

I am sure I have a RSP2 in the cupboard, will try it tomorrow. It shouldn’t really matter which RSP I use – the API is the same.

Simon, I have a RSP2 here so I tested at 8 and 10 Mhz bandwidth. I found the same as Frank. Did not see this before as I rarely run above 8Mhz. I have attached the log files for both bandwidths. I have not examined them myself as I need to get outside and do some work while the weather is nice.
