Re: Keeping Tuned Freq in Center

i am guessing rx matrix could do the job very well each of your receivers represent a sub band (in your example the cw portion and the ssb dx window) ... your main receiver couod be much wider (say you have a good sdr with 10 megs bw you can receive the complete 70cm band) now yoi see asignal on rx 1 (a cw signal comes up) ... in the rx window press select ... your receiver window is not also in the if window (rx dsp box) ... in rx 1 and 2 you can use a bit wider view (see my screenshots) and in the if window you do the finetune in my example i only used one receiver in full screewidth to show you the different zoom settings ... but you can use 2 or 3 receivers (subbands) if you do not want the subbands to be retuned ... why not use a third receiver?!? (maybe thats your solution?!?) use rx 1 and 2 and subbands ... main spectrum shows full bw that your sdr gives ... and rx3 is used as "working" receiver (can be tuned to any frequency without change the sub receivers 1+2 that you only use to "view" but not for receive) just an idea dg9bfc sigi Am 22.09.2021 um 22:41 schrieb sm6fhz:

I have api 3.08 and RSPduo working fine at 10 MHZ. I don’t have Uno installed and api starts fine. This with 2365 Beta. Originally I couldn’t run 10 MHZ at all until I made sure internal USB hub only had RSP connected. Robin

Pulled out the RSPduo and tested it. Same result as the RSP2pro, 8Mhz OK, 10Mhz nothing. Log files attached.
I have API 3.07 installed on system. System is a Dell XPS8700, i7-4770 CPU, 16GB memory, NVIDIA GeForce GT635 USB connection is to PCI 3.0 adapter, w/connection to power supply, dedicated to SDR -- Dennis KA6FUB

Re: Keeping Tuned Freq in Center

OK Simon.
I will try to explain. I have the Rx-matrix set up for a few sub-bands e.g. 70 cm CW (e.g. 432.020 to 432.070), 70 cm SSB (e.g. 432.150 to 432.250), 70 cm beacons etc. I monitor these selected frequency ranges by these receivers in the Rx-matrix in order to see if any activity arises. E.G. in an contest situation. If I see someone coming on I would like to move the Rx-passband to this frequency to listen, but still have the same monitoring (visually in spectrum and waterfall) as before. I.E. locking the frequency band even if I move the Rx-frequency within this band. E.G. a check box for "lock Rx-matrix) so I still watch the same frequency range as set even if i scroll around listening to different stations. I know this is the way the main window works, but there you do not get enough frequency resolution to separate different CW stations in the CW part of the band when looking at 432.000 to 432.500. That is why I use the Rx-matrix to display sub-bands of interest. I have searched the "Options" for this but not found this possibility. I hope I was able to explain my desire in an comprehensible way. It would be very handy with such an option. 73 / Ingolf, SM6FHZ

Hi Simon.
If your answer was for me and my question, it does not solve my question regarding the RX-matrix and locking one particular Rx-displayed frequency range and move your Rx withing that range keeping the very same frequency range displayed. I was not sure if your answer was directed to me or to another question. Sorry. 73 / Ingolf, SM6FHZ

Also,
I can start any RSP receiver without every using SDRuno, in fact I’ve never installed SDRuno, only the API downloads. Maybe SDRuno starts the service? I can always do this myself.

I've just upgraded two PC's with SDRuno version 1.41 and now SDRC doesn't want to start my RSPDx unless I first start SDRuno. It appears that the problem is that the old API v3.07 loads at the startup of W10, whereas the latest API v3.08 doesn't. It can also be started in Services instead of running SDRuno first. -- - + - + -

Hi,
I noticed that 3.08 was not set to automatic startup. You’ll have to bring this up with the SDRplay folks, it’s their API.

I am sorry Joanne, but I can not find the setting you are referring to under "Tools", "Options".
Can you please post a screenshot to ease the finding of this particular setting enabling one singe receiver in the Rx-matrix to keep it's displayed frequency range even if I change the Rx-frequency within the displayed frequency range. 73 / Ingolf, SM6FHZ

On one PC I have re-installed SDRuno 1.40 and then have no problems as the API is v3.07. Cannot work out why the new API v3.08 doesn't start even though it is set to Automatic in services ? Any ideas ? Regards John

Maybe for the new SDRplay API 3.08? Luckily I don't use @ 10MHz bw ... ;-) 73

open receiver pane ... can be set to any position there you see the signal centered (it is similar to if window but can be docked anywhere and set to fulle screen width) and as an example i docked it to top of screen and showing min and max zoom ratio

Open the DSP Panel (where you have the frequency display, filters, modes, etc) and open the IF Display. Then put mouse cursor inside the small waterfall and use the scroll knob on mouse. Active frequency will stay incenter, although you are limited in width of view.

I hear tell that some laptops do not supply full
power to USB ports as a means of increasing battery life. It's a
BIOS setting. A fully powered hub should be able to turn the
trick, too, I believe.

There isn't, in the main display. Best to use the Receiver Pane, which does keep the tuned frequency in the middle.

Works fine with both my RSPdx and RSP 2 Suspect this may be a matter of not enough power in some PCs, I am using an Intel i7 11700K @ 3.600GHz and runs both versions without problem. Mike
