BTW,

I use 40MHz ext. ref. and works well.

I never said that the cause of the problem is SDRC software.
This became even more evident after the failed tests with SDRAngel.

Hi,

It is appropriate, keep asking, but I am sure it’s firmware / ref signal which is the problem.

Um, er, ahm, it helps to go to the right place to try to solve it. The author of the patch is the one with whom to discuss it.

This Pluto cannot be bad in terms of hardware since it works without a modification code. Right?

If so then the problem is in the modification code itself - that is from the software side.

At that point I'd initiate a dialog with that firmware's developer. Or see what further discussion of it and how he uses it could be helpful. (I'm not sure any additional firmware is really needed when you change the frequency other than simply using "This PC" access to the Pluto and editing the appropriate line in "config.txt". That's somewhat easier than what appears to be a script that does a whole lot of who knows what.

Correct, agree 100%. We understood that.

SDRAngel doesn't work after that code has been loaded - similar behavior as SDRC.

Simon,

I was brought up on the Isle of man – lovely place but Cornwall is better, the IOM has problems atm. I may get a 160m dipole up soon – would not be very high though. Sadly you’ll struggle for intelligent QSOs these days – activity on all bands is way down except of course for FT8.

Dag'  Simon,

You will discover friends you didn't know you had
- them wot  announce their intent to visit :-)

You will need robust antennas to trounce our clean southwest winds - like tonight -
and fast unplugging skills when them there wild thunderstorms loom.

And you might find the noise levels of moths, owls and badgers initially sleep-robbing.
And miss those of 999 sirens...

We did it yonks ago. Never looked back.
The modest hovel we bought then  has appreciated by a factor of five-plus...

Hi Simon

No Some prices ok..seen a few in price range..yes some are SILLY..but a 3 bed house in hackney E5 is £1m!!!! How silly is that!!

Not too bad UNLESS you need to be on sea front..in which case one needs £1m plus!!!

We live in small 3 bed east London ( Dagenham) house..but last week equals 4 bed large large garden near Redruth..

As long as on bus route to coast dont care where is ( for when we get to old to drive..lol.) Wife gets choice of house as long as has BIG garden with no immediate neighbours ( stupid new ofcom rf laws.plus hideous smpsu noise, ) we like to make noise so suits Mary as well..

Am electronic/ mechanical engineer/ artist so work should be ok..been offered 2 jobs just on the phone..work in welding/ generator/ boat industry..( repairing.) though would rather just be blacksmithing making art..( but that does not pay do good!!but is VERY good for the soul..)

Cant wait..hate it here now..I LOVE Cornwall..feels like home, always has..always happy there, even in winter..also perfect place for my old land rovers!! Plus can go surfing!!!!( which in east london is tricky!!)
