Charles,

Were you running Full duplex or Half duplex? I see how it may hang in half duplex, will add code & checks tomorrow.

Hi All

I added a fan to the Lime mini so it never goes above 25C now.

I had two instances this afternoon of the problem where the Lime stops transmitting and Console will then not close normally.

I don't have a sure fire recipe to reproduce the problem, but it seems to be related to switching Console between minimised and full focus, possibly while transmitting. With focus on WSJT-X, and Console minimised, there was no problem and the Lime continued to transmit reliably (FT8 15 sec periods) for about 10 minutes.

When bringing Console back to full screen  and scrolling down to look at temperature, on the next period the problem occurred.  I restarted Console and was able to repeat this sequence again to trigger the problem after only one transmit period.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm talking about the rectangular box with the frequency in the bottom that reads 7.020 to 7.180.

It's always the same frequency no matter what band I select.

It’s not libusb, it uses the Cypress driver SDK 1.3.4 which is what I use.

The very last resort is to check the version of libusb that I use. LibUSB is (obviously) the USB interface library, notoriously buggy. Will look at that now.

Markers Question #sdrconsolev3

rmrrgs

Hello,

In Simon’s writeup (“Markers”), the screenshot
 that appears for VIEW/Markers
has under Manage:

Show Memories, Add Current, and Configuration

On my screen, using latest version, I have under Manage:

         Add Current and Configuration.

No “Show Memories”.  Why ?

Sounds like it would be a very helpful piece of information.

Is this incorporated elsewhere ?
If so, would it allow for using different databases (e.g., like ILG or eibi),
and easily switching between them for the Markers display ?

Bob

Re: Hermes-Lite 2 Available

Thanks Simon,

I hope to have one to play with fairly soon.

Sending cw as an audio tone is, without doubt, better than nothing, but it’s hard to keep harmonics out of the transmitter’s audio passband, assuming ssb modulation is being used. Using the obvious solution of generating audio at a very high pitch, such that the second harmonic is above the passband, leads to other operating problems…

I think the “ideal solution” will always involve the actual cw being generated at the remote end, either by nifty software coding, or through a hardware interface of some sort.

Regards, Mark

Mark,

You may already have the answer, but as you connect vis Ethernet then TX does indeed work. The only issue at the moment is CW but I believe this is being worked on so the radio can be keyed remotely. Now if I add support for paddles / key via an Arduino then I could at least send CW as an audio tone. This is requested for Pluto & Lime, someone made an Arduino interface for paddles / key but I don’t have the info.

hello alex

does your midi board come  with a configuration tool?? .... my eks xp5 comes with a nice tool where you can set each button to your own needs ... even combining two buttons ... or a button with turnwheel or slider combined ...

if your config tool (if you have one) can also combine switches and or switches with knobs ... then you just have to reconfigure your deck a bit to have more functions

on my xp5 i configured some single buttons ... as "range" function (means function like a knob or wheel) ...

with the turnwheel i have now 10hz and 100hz steps ... and on 4  "range" buttons i have 1kc and 10 kc up down ...(with autorepeat also added)

.....

no idea how and if you can configure your deck ... just wanna give you some ideas

greetz sigi

ps ... i just bought another xp5 ... better have 2 :-)

single turn wheel DJ controllers are no more available in the market (like Behringer CMD PL1 or EKS XP5)
A week ago I purched a tiny DJ2Go2 Midi controller (~ 63 EUR) which is working fine, but has more turn knobs than usable in SRDC
and just few buttons...

It would be great if you could add following Options to the MiDI configuration in SRDC:

TX Drive Level (up)  - Range
TX Drive Level (down)  - Range
Tune - Single - Toggle

Also often in use when there is no GPS Reference integrated in the setup:
RIT (up) - Range
RIT (down) - Range
XIT (up) - Range
XIT (down) - Range

Nice to have:
RIT On/Off - Single - Toggle
XIT On/Off - Single - Toggle
Switching Color of LEDs (e.g. TX ON -green/red-)

Still confused about trunking setup with DSD+ in Console v3.  SDR system is Console v3 and a Bladerf 2.0 A4 on a dual E5 Xeon, 128G RAM, Titan RTX running Win 10v1909 OS.  No prior experience with trunking but know what a control channel is, have IT skills and my system works great across rest of SDR Console v3 featureset.  I've occasionally heard decodes without understanding why they worked at the time.

I think my problem is I don't understand the setup process, i.e.: what DSD files to edit, what info to put in them (besides control channel), why I am unable to add options / terms to the Control window by typing in field and / or clicking the "+", why my hard-coded edits to SDR's DSD .bat file don't persist after saving, etc.  I do think understand how to route audio, start controller / monitor, install DSD+ and am able to manually surf bands and decode some individual signals.

Thanks for any suggestions.  Learning about P.25 is one of my primary interests in exploring SDR.

Optimal MTU / packet size for Orion protocol-2 ???

I've been searching around a bit this evening but haven't found anything definitive...

Radio is ANAN-200D with the latest P2 firmware; connection is direct gigabit (no switches, etc.) Is there an optimal
MTU, does the radio's phy even support "jumbo frames," and of course what works best with SDR Console? Initially, I
left MTU set to the default 1500, but I've become curious. I haven't actually tried anything yet; something to play
with over the weekend, so I'm wondering what others use, have discovered, etc.
