you may have two multiplexes on two different frequencies and from two directions ... here in germany that is very often the case ... be it with digital terrestrical tv ... or with digital radio ... that you have a "commercial" site ... and a "private site" on two complete different directions ...
toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
one covers the normal tv stations (or radio stns) (ard, zdf ndr etc)... and the other covers the "private" stations (rtl,sat1, pro7 etc) and cause they can be on two different frequencies and from different directions ... such an omnidirectional receive antenna may cover it well (much better than the small indoor antennas that are sold for digital tv or radio) greetz sigi dg9bfc Am 05.04.2020 um 10:59 schrieb Alan via groups.io:
I was not too sure, the picture not too clear but Sigi has it like https://www.everythingrf.com/community/what-is-a-super-turnstile-or-batwing-antenna

Hi Bob
I have RSP2, so sorry, not quite the same, but if it is similar the antenna selection is on the Home tab, but only appears of course once the radio is "Started". May help? Maybe not! 73 Max

Collect only and you need to climb three 50 foot trees to retrieve it

Looks lime a U100 TV rotor. In the city you do not need a HIGH antenna, just something pointing in the right direction 8=) Jerry

I think we’ve all worked out “what it is” Max, but the big questions remain unanswered… Why is it there? What IS the frequency coverage@ What is it actually being used for? …and WHO is using it?
I can only suggest nocking on the door wearing a Groucho Marx disguise and asking?
(Still only got as far as cutting mini- trunking to size, putting in half a dozen notches for cable entry/exit and sanding down the rough edges)

Hello,
I give up. Where, please, is the selection box for selecting which of the three ant. inputs are used/active for a SDRPlay RSPdx ? Thanks, Bob

In the early days of DTT I cobbled together a

batwing with wire (inspired by Rothammel) atop a pole on the chimney to compare signals from the only six (sic) transmitters I could receive. It worked in a fashion - better than a loop as for indoor reception of ancient analog signals. Michael 2E0IHW

Simon:
The file is easily enough edited in Notepad++, it took me all of about 4 minutes to do it. Now that I know what to look for, it's a piece of the Vicar's cake. I would it think it wouldn't be a high priority addition unless it just doesn't take much time to code it. I would certainly hate for this to take away time from implementing the scanning functions which I think people would want much more. So, I suppose my answer is: 1. Don't do it on my account unless this has come up a few times before. 2. Don't do it unless you feel like it and it doesn't take very long. 3.As always we appreciate your efforts, assistance and this great software. Curt - N6ATC
