OK. I have downloaded the files but I don't know what to do with it...

I can see some C library,.cpp and .h files but no .exe or dmg..

Please tell me more about that..

simon has included the usb relay boards (that switch on when txing) ...

it was thought to be used as a ptt contact (switch power amp on while txing)

you sure can wire an "on air" light to such a relay board and you do not need to mess around with ts2000 cat commands

greetz sigi dg9bfc

ps still waiting that those relays can be used as band data out ....

Hi

I'm pondering the complexity of creating a tiny USB device that acts as a COM port and can speak Kenwood TS-2000 such that it would be able to illuminate during TX. This could be clipped to the outside of your monitor, and would be especially useful for people using external TX buttons like the Elad TM2.

My questions:
1. Has anyone done this already?
2. The Kenwood TS-2000 specifications listed on the website indicates thath tx and rx are calls that set the radio into Rx or TX mode. Is there a call that can be monitored to check whether the radio is currently TXing?

Hi Gérard,

i use a program called Lime Suite GUI for updating the firmware.

As Simon switched over to a newer dll for the lime some versions ago, it would be good to check that.

Please check https://github.com/myriadrf/LimeSuite for the Lime Suite GUI Application.

After connection to the Lime via (Options -> ConnectionsSettings) you can see the current Firmware and Harware Revision in the Textbox at the bottom, as well as in the status bar.

Mine is giving me the following output:

[21:10:54] INFO: Reference clock 40.00 MHz
[21:10:54] INFO: Connected Control port: LimeSDR-Mini FW:6 HW:2 Protocol:1 GW:1.30 Ref Clk: 40.00 MHz

When you got another output it would be great to use (Modules -> Programming). In the upcoming dialog you should have "Automatic" selected as the programming mode and then click Program. Lime Suite GUI will then automatically download the newest Firmware files for your Lime Mini.

By the way, i'm using the limesdr mini via USB2 on a fairly old computer with windows 7.

Sometimes i have an issue transmitting. SDRC goes to TX but there's no output from the lime. Sometimes SDRC crashes then and sometimes a process stays in Task manager.

Best regards

Chris

Hi Christian,

Thanks for your interest.

The SDR Console version is V3.0.20 build 1773

Concerning the Lime mini I am not sure if this is the last version. I'm not sure how to check that.

Connection is via USB3

The receiving section is working properly.

I have installed the software on a brand new ASUS desktop  Vivobook17 and also on a small ASUS PC, the results are the same.

Previously in sept 2019 (with an earlier version of SDR Console and an i5 PC), everything was OK.

750kHz setting is used.

Re: Decimal digit in frequency entry window

Hi Kriss,

thanks for your reply. Yes it can be changed with the Keyboard Layout.

When i switch to Swiss Keyboard Layout i'll have the Dot on the number pad. But that affects the whole Operating System with every running program :( This would lead to some other bad mistakes when writing e-mails as some characters have other positions and special characters than the original de-DE Layout.

Changing the general behaviour of Windows with the decimal separator char or thousands delimiter could have some other negative impact i don't wanna risk.

A good way for international support would be to give the parser, which converts the string to a decimal, the current input locale. Maybe it would be sufficient to check if the value contains a comma or a dot, as these two characters are the only decimal separators i'm aware of.

I've had no problems with any of my Discoveries and remain very happy with them, but I'm sure all Discovery owners, regardless of location, would appreciate some sort of "official" comment as to whether or not this is likely to be just a one off or whether we could all be looking forward to potential problems sometime in the future.

We've all had to accept that questions such as this asked on the Airspy group disappear very quickly into a black hole and never see the light of day, is this becoming universal Airspy policy?

Decimal digit in frequency entry window

Christian Veith

Hi Simon,

First things first. Thank you very much for the time writing that excellent piece of software :) I'm using it since June for QO-100 with a lime sdr mini and now with a hermes-lite for shortwave.

I've found an issue within the frequency entry dialog. I'm using a German keyboard layout (qwertz), de-DE.

On that particular layout a comma key is located on the number pad, where a dot is on en-GB or en-US layouts.

SDR Console expects a dot when entering frequencies in MHz. It would be nice if SDR Console would respect the locale settings of the operating system at this point, as the decimal separator char is the comma in some countries.

The Version that i use is 3.0.20.

Screenshots:

Entering the value 10.123 results in 10.123 MHz

When entering 10,123 it only lets me enter 10,1 and the result is this:

Best regards

Christian

@OE3GBB

I have a similar problem (new with V3.0.21?) using LimeSDR-USB. I can RX and TX several times, but then I cannot PTT into TX any more. After starting SDRC again it is all OK untill the next freezing. The error log is showing a access violation with MSVCP120.dll, I think.

Hello Gerard,

Would be nice to get some additional Infos.

Which Version of SDR Console aware you using?
Is the newest Firmware loaded in the lime mini?
Connected via USB2 or USB3 Port?

I assume you are using 750 kHz (TX) Bandwidth setting in the Radio selection Dialog.

Hello,

Using a LIME SDR Mini and different W10 PC's, Reception is perfect but as soon as I enter in TX mode, I cant get out. The reception carries on, the mouse pointer can be move but without any effect.

Only a CTRL+ALT+SUP allows to quit the program.

Any idea ?

Best regards,

Re: Spy-Server via SDR-Server #feature

Just a thought and humble question.
It would enable the SDR-Server to be a Single Point of Contact for remote access (WAN) with an AirSpy HF+ in an distant corner of the Ethernet LAN, adjacent to the antenna in question.
I understand that the question sounds awkward. If you don't ask, you will never know.

Hi Simon.
Spy-Server is accessible in SDR-Console as a item in the list of SDR's.
It is not in the list of SDR's in SDR-Server. See attached screen shots.
Would it be possible to add Spy-Server as an item in the SDR-list in SDR-Server? Or, are there any technical contradictions to that (e.g. server after (within) an server)?

Me thinks they would fit just fine in an envelope for $00.55, but I digress.
