Re: Using RSP1A and RSP2 on V3 server

No issue what so ever, I run 2 or 3 SDR's per server all the time. The issue can be the USB Buss and the power pulled by more than one SDR radio.
If it's a laptop running as the server, try placing one SDR on one side of laptop's USB ports and the other SDR on the opposite side. Or get a powered USB hub and place SDR's on that. I have servers running currently using both of these techniques.
The next issue will be bandwidth of you are going to operate them via the WAN, make sure you have compression turned on in the Network Tab of the Server Manager. SDR Plays, due to their wide bandwidth, can be hogs when running at max bandwidth. Make sure your ISP can handle it. Run some Internet speed tests while both are in operation to see if there is any bandwidth left over for other users.

Using RSP1A and RSP2 on V3 server

gmail

Hi all,

I am trying to figure out whether is should be possible to use an RSP1A (for Oscar 100) and an RSP2 (for HF/VHF/UHF) on one V3 server. Have tried a basic configuration and it looks like the server is ok.

But when on the client pc I open console and connect the RSP2 it looks ok until I open a second instance connecting to the RSP1A. The second instance starts up but doesn’t show signal and as soon as I click the running instance (running on HF) it completely freezes.

Are there precautions to take when using 2 sdr’s from the same brand on one server?

Thanks in advance,

Jos (PE1GPE)

enclosed both screenshots asked for.

the pulldown menu for bandwidth is empty (but when activating snipping tool of course it disappears but I guess you'll understand).

I did try all kind of bandwidths.  When I set over 250 kHz BW I get the numbers in the pulldown but it does not work.  Even with extreme high bandwidths on LAN it does not work.  Hiccups as hell.

Locally all works fine but not on the server.  I left the settings on 100 kHz so you can try this pulldown menu yourself on my ON7WP-Brussels online server and watch it crash.  Then you also probably get the dump of what goes wrong.

Thanks for watching into this.  It would be nice to have this AO100 downlink on SDR-space.com

Re: Import csv marker file

What you are doing wrong:

  1. Not including a copy of the file.
  2. Not including any screenshots.

I suggest:

  1. First save as CSV,
  2. Edit this CSV, then you know the format is correct.

Is it possible that flexing the antenna cable makes and breaks the direct contact to the center conductor hole in the FCPP's RF input? The only other thing that comes to mind is that somehow it is being treated as an audio device and the audio mixer distinguishes it differently on the two different USB sockets giving it a different gain setting.

To switch, I stop the radio, move the FCPP to the other USB port, and start the radio.   Same results if I shut down the computer while making the move between USB ports.   5 year old Dell desktop running Windows 10.   This is a recent condition.  There have been no hardware changes.  It was the same level in either port even after installation of the latest Windows 10 update.  SDRC V3.0.14.
This doesn't seem right.  Can anyone offer some suggestions?
Thanks,  Rick

Ed, give the man a break.  If he says he is going to lookin to it he will.
Don't push him.  It is a hobby and we all must be thankful he puts so much effort in a product that outperforms a lot of professional software, and all for free.
I also have two LIME mini's waiting to use in africa as remote station and AO100 uplink but we have to be patient.
I had the same with Pluto and he also fixed that for AO100.
Simon does a great job but please do not push him like this.  It works contrary.

Looks like it is related to processor power.  On a more powerful PC it always works.  Just had the same issue on a Dell D630 with 2GB.

Hello Simon, and many thanks for your excelent work!

My question is... May be possible check, also, the hour (current time compared with the schedule) to find the correct transmitter in the Frequency Database window?

Thanks in advance!

Ah,

Good point – Originally SDR Console was just for RX with an external TX. I have not added Satellite TX for Pluto / Lime, I’ll look at this over the weekend, maybe I can get it to work.

Simon,

I am havinging the very same issue Nigel is having.  I've attached screenshots for two examples.  The first is the opening configuration when software finishes loading.  This landed on the current satellite, JO-97.  Note that the frequency (435.350) is the frequency that was in the TX window from the previous day's configuation.  It did not load from the Satellite Tracking page.

The second set of screen captures shows conditions following an update of the tracking as the software moved from JO-97 to PO-101 as it came into the current window.  I've also opened the frequency configuration windows in the second show of each set so you can see how the satellite frequencies are setup, including the order in the configuration.

Hope this helps.

Simon,

One more example.  This one as the Tracking changed to FO-29.  This one is a V/U transponder.  Receiver moved from 2M to 70CM, but transmit window has not moved, as shown in the Satellite Configuration to 2M.
