Hi Don,

what microphone are you using with the pluto?

i anly have an idea for a workaround

there are a dozen "tonegenerator" soft in the net (also double tone for imd measurement of a tx but thats another story)

take one that can produce that magical low tone and mix it to your transmit audio

I would like to try hitting a few local repeaters but they have CTCSS tones systems.  Is there any way to produce CTCSS signals on transmit for SDR-Console?

DCS would also be useful because it is used on one of the systems.

Thanks,

Re: SDRConsole won't run after installing World Map pgm

John,

That’s very odd indeed. There’s a Full Reset option: https://www.sdr-radio.com/Support/FullReset this will probably get you going again. 3.0.4 and (soon) 3.0.5 resolve quite a few issues starting up.

SDRConsole v3.0.3 was running just fine until after I installed Simon's World Map program.  The World Map program ran OK but now SDRConsole will not start.  It would just hang and I could not shut it off either with the "X" or with Task Manager.  I then deleted the World Map program along with the Microsoft Visual C++ program that it installed.  No joy.  I still cannot get the program to run.

Would appreciate some help with this one.  Thanks in advance.

Lime Tx spectrum in CW Tune

sm6fhz

Hi all.
When I am activating my Lime SDR into Tx om Tx channel 1 using CW and "tune" and look at the modulation spectrum (using a HP 8561E SPA) I do not get one single tone but a whole spectrum looking like it is excited by a square wave rather than a single CW sine tone. When listening on a radio I get the same response. Changing the drive level does not change the spectrum shape, just the level. Frequency is 432.174 MHz and I read +10 dBm output on the highest peak tone in the spectrum when at maximum drive setting.
Exciting the Lime via SDR-console using a FT8 signal from MSHV via Line1 and in USB exhibits the same wide spectrum.
Has anyone else seen this? Have i missed some setting of the SDR-console Tx controle settings? Any other idea on what this might be caused by?
I am on FW version 4 in my Lime according to what SDR-console reads.

When I start up, my Firmware Version on the console shows v1.08

I have updated to the latest Protocol 2.

Does Protocol 2 Start with new version numbers?

David
Have you upgraded to Protocol 2 and does yours show v1.6 and if so, what have I got wrong?

RX name on the Satellite screen #satellites #sdrplay

Hello Simon,

I use an RSP2 and an RSP1A on two instances of SDR-Console. Would it be possible to include the name of the RX on the header of the satellite screen? It would help when there are two satellite screens open.

ANAN One bug and one question.

Edward Clark <edclarkiv1@...>

Bug:
With a ANAN-100 configured the antenna switch in the Home ribbon, the Icon shows the correct antenna selected position.  But the pull down does not track the proper position.  Switch does select the correct antenna at the radio.

No screen shot as doing so hides the bug.

Question:
Should PureSignal work?  I do have the newest Protocol 2 firmware.  PureSignal now works in Thetis.  Everything in SDRC seems to work great now.  Even the PureSignal Monitors seem to work great.  But no reduction in IMD.  I also can't seem to find any controls to turn PureSignal On and Off.  Am I missing it?

Thank you.

Ed

Edited

Looks like the panadapter slamming and the audio cutouts were due to version 1.6 of the firmware.  Upgraded to v1.6Pre1 and that fixed those problems.  Now just have a "freeze" that happens frequently after 30 seconds or so of running.  Sometimes it runs longer.

Joe W4WT

Update:  It appears the program runs fine unless I move the cursor around.  Seconds after moving the cursor around the screen, Console locks up.  A Stop and Start clears it up and it will run until you move the cursor "some period of time" again.  Time varies.

Re: version 3.0.5

Hi Simon,

Found a small bug:

When leaving the Tone button on after transmitting and then changing the bandwidth e.g. from 2.1 to 2.5 MHz, then the Spectrum window in the Transmit Panel still shows the Tone signal even though the Tone button is disabled.

One you are in that situation Tx will not work until you change the Bandwidth again with the Tone button disabled. Just toggling the tone button on and off does not help.

Enclosed a screenshot showing the Tone button disabled but still you can see the tone in the spectrum window of the transmit panel.

Regards

Matthias

Re: CW Filters

Simon Brown

Yes, thoughts 😊

When defining a CW filter you set the center frequency – aka ‘sweet spot’. Below the center frequency is 500Hz.

I'm currently using SDRConsole 3.0.4.  In setting up a 2.7K CW filter, I cannot find a setting that maintains a CW offset like the default filters of 1K and below.  I’ve tried to input negative values but that’s forbidden.

In Thetis, I set 2.7K CWL as follows:  HIGH = 0; LOW = -2700; WIDTH = 2700.  The proper CW offset is maintained.

Thoughts?

Actually i was thinking of RSNTP which is not installed as a service.
Wasn't aware of that.

It has timeshift facilities which can be useful at times, pun not intended:-)
I can see how this can be useful with WSPR-X or similar applications if the timing of 'the other side' is a bit off.

Cheers,
Dick

Hi Joe,

>  (I am admin of my computers anyway \o/).
Same here..

My issues with HDSDR and EXTIO was with the rtfsdr tcp dll.
Do you mean ExtIO_RTL_TCP.dll v2016.3 ?

If you ever tried to use that dll you know it acts a little wonky all on its own.

Haven’t used that for a while, but the .dll still sits in the HDSDR directory.
Must try it one of these days.

Cheers,

Dick

https://sites.google.com/site/g4zfqradio/hdsdr_wsjt-x

mentions “quote”
Note:- Use the WSJT-X default folder setting. Do not be clever and put it in any other place. And you may well need to*"Run as Administrator"* or settings may not be saved.
“unquote”

No explanation ‘why’ either..
Not intended to be clever intentionally,  but my WSJT-X is NOT installed in the default folder, but in D:\Amrad\WSJT-X (2.0.0)
I also used a different directory for the several pre-release..
Dick,

Yes I wrote that some time ago with an earlier version of WSJT-X, I guess WSJT-X may have changed or it was something in my setup.
All I remember was that I had problems and "solved" them by using the default folder.
"Administrator" ? maybe I was being cautious, maybe someone else reported that.

My NTP (from https://www.meinbergglobal.com/english/sw/ntp.htm#ntp_stable ) is installed in D:\Tools\NTP

The service is started using a UC/PW that has the necessary priviledges..
