Another nice feature would be the ability to point with the mouse cursor and have it display the time at the point of interest……

Thanks for the suggestions. A few already tried, however many not so I'll get stuck into those new ones...

Nope,

It’s a Firewall blocking FTP access from the program. 1.0.6 may be better, hope to show it off later this evening.

Good afternoon, Simon.

My continued thanks for your new World Map program - it keeps getting better!
My only issue: the Solar Weather indices window doesn't work. I only have -1 for data showing in all entries, and 'Refresh' does nothing. I did not have any pop-ups for permissions, so nothing there. I did un-install and re-install, but no change. As usual, it's probably the operator, yes?
Help!

Re: HackRF TX support with V3 of SDR Console

Hi,

I never had a beta – I got it working for myself but must sort out a bug before I make it available. Of source, once that bug’s fixed others will come and bite me on the behind 😊 .

Simon, is there a version that will allow the Lime SDR UsB to transmit? I remember you had a Beta, but I never got to try it. Willing to roll back firmware to try.
I have 2- Lime SDR USBs & 3 computers to test on.

Re: Distorted audio after changing frequencies

Simon Brown

Mike,

That really helps.

  1. I see the bandwidth is 125kHz, what’s happening inside is the code is upsampling twice to 500 kHz so it can then demodulate using 350kHz. This upsampling should not be a problem.
  2. At 125kHz you will may be using more network bandwidth than the server can stream reliably.
  3. I see breaks in the waterfall, this is probably related to your issue. I’ll get to this soon.

Do you mean the b200 or b200mini?  The b200mini works fine, it's the main SDR I use with v3.

Re: Windows 10 release 1803 (build 17134.285); fatal DPC Latency problems. Issue with Sept MS Win10 update?

Stu C <stu@...>

Some things you could try (document changes)
Update Bios
(assuming you can get that little case open)
Reseat cards, RAM especially, but anything that is moveable.
Check Heat sinks are solid and seated (check if the stutter is the same from cold - leave it off for a while)
Check CPU is not on some dynamic overclocking controlled by an installed app, for a test fix the frequency
Look at speed step (or anything else that dynamically changes the CPU)
Disconnect and reconnect SATA data connectors and power.
Depending on what display type you use see if you can reduce the RAM allocated to just what is required.
Does it have antivirus? Software Firewall (or use an external router/firewall)
Look at power controls for USB devices just in case it is sending something to a low  power state every 500ms

It might be that some other interrupt is er, interrupting the CPU with RAM or hard drive write issues.

If you are sensible and don't open the case with a shotgun nothing there should make things worse but it would be good to affect it some way to narrow it down.

I've had bad SATA leads or poorly seated RAM tie up the hardware just enough to make things bog but not show up in the logs.

H Simon,

Thanks for the suggestion. I should have been explicit re audio drivers - the existing drivers haven't been updated any time recently, they're the same versions that have been in situ for some time now. Regardless, I stripped out all the audio related drivers & reinstalled them. I replaced all the current audio drivers with older versions. No joy with either effort. This is why I think the problem may be within the latest OS update - the drivers haven't changed but relevant OS files e.g. HDAudbus.sys have.

I also went deep with network card drivers as apparently many DPC latency issues have their origin in conflicts between network and audio drivers. No joy there either.

Re: IC-7610 I/Q Output!

The message thread below is currently ensuing on the IC-7610 group:

To: ic-7610@groups.io
Subject: [ic-7610] Anyone have any influence at Icom towards releasing
documentation for the EXTIO_IC7610?
From: "Tom Blahovici" <tomb18@videotron.ca>
Date: Sun, 23 Sep 2018 20:41:38 -0700

Icom has released an EXT_IO dll for the IQ output for the IC-7610.  So
far they have only as far as I know, released the documentation
privately to the authors of HDSDR.  Since this uses the EXT_IO
interface which has a documented interface, a lot of the functions are
available if you don't mind sampling at a fixed rate of 1920000
samples/sec .

However, they do provide a GUI interface but none of the functions for
changing sampling rate are published except to HDSDR.

So it would be great if this information can be made public, since the
EXT_IO interface is already public and this would allow many
developers the ability to program SDR applications for the 7610.
In addition, Icom only released a 32 bit DLL.  It should be pretty
easy for them to release a 64 bit version as well.

So I am hoping....
Thanks, 73 Tom

Joe,

Some sites show data for Boulder Colorado, as this code was written by a US ham this is understandable. I will expand the software to show the values from ftp://ftp.swpc.noaa.gov/pub/latest/AK.txt instead of ftp://ftp.swpc.noaa.gov/pub/latest/DGD.txt to give more options.

The space weather numbers aren't matching up for me either.  I'm looking at it right now at 2300z and it is showing SFI 68, A 20 and K 2.  DxLab and others are showing 68, 13, and 2.  Seems to be a glitch of some kind here.
